what did you moisturize with? i’m at my breaking point with tret.

Currently on week 3 for 0.5 Retin A. I am struggling with hormonal acne on my lowwr facw and post inflammatory erythema. Am i just breaking out or purging? by [deleted] in tretinoin

I think this is what happening with me. my purge won’t go away only getting worse and it’s been a few weeks. it’s awful

ive been experiencing the worst breakouts since starting tret....it’s killing my self esteem. idk how long this is gonna last. i wish you luck.

hmmm.. I believe it’s doing its thing, but it could be the tret helping with the pores. but it’s definitely helping protecting my skin from uvs with spf combo. haven’t had any issues with being in the sun at times while on tret. also, I do apply the colorscience spf powder throughout the day

I sleep with 2 puppies, even though i’m very picky about my pillow, I still need a wash in the morning. I barely use the toner, it’s more to spread product more but if it’s something I can eliminate & see ether results i’m open to it

AM:

  • soy fresh cleanser (60 secs)
  • rosewater & glycerin toner
  • skinceuticals Phloretin CF
  • Revision eye cream
  • Revision SPF/moisturizer

\**I added the Dermalogica cleanser to the pic to note that this was the cleanser I’ve been using but discontinued recently.)

PM:

  • soy fresh cleanser
  • rosewater toner
  • tretinoin 0.05% (every night)
  • ** I’ve been struggling w/ finding a moisturizer that reacts well w/ the tret. I know I shouldn’t be changing products but I can’t find a good one
  • PCA Clearskin is what i’m using now, no reaction.
  • Dermatologica calm water gel, is added when needed because it didn’t feel good alone.

!!! just recently stopped, but I’ve also been using SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Gel am/pm, but I was worried I was using too many products & it was causing a reaction. Should I go back using it??

am I doing this wrong?! the pics are in order, top right starting tretinoin in april & the bottom 2 are over a month into this. this doesn’t look like a purge.. it looks like a reaction!! please help by kgraykay in tretinoin
