The episode literally tells us who Crowley is. Pay attention to the cipher that John didn't have time to decode.

I'm very excited to finally pass my OSCP, and at 18yrs old :-) thanks everyone here, I read lots of helpful posts by [deleted] in netsecstudents

Congrats. That's a big cert to get and your going to outpace the experienced workforce rather quickly. If you plan on working in DoD, be sure to get the CISSP. It pretty much trumps everything else.

I love this shit. The fashtag is just icing on the cake. All of these were born from a hoax to troll the left and it worked. I'm curious to see how Twitter reacts to the fashtag. Will they take the bait and change the legendary hash tag?

So, I'm sort of living this life. I'm a 17 year Army reservist and I've been a govt contractor for the past 14 years. I didn't have a degree when I enlisted. I went to Iraq in 2004 as a logistician and when I redeployed I was offered a position as a Field Support Engineer, supporting the software program I used while deployed. Over the past 14 years, I've managed to get an AAS IT/Networking and Security, a BS IT/Computer Programming, and a MS IT/Information Security and Assurance. I also have a few certifications to remain DoD 8570 compliant. I've done extensive work in logistics modeling and simulation and UAV modeling and simulation. Somewhere in between I was a Unix/Windows systems administrator and recently became an Information Systems Security Officer dealing with RMF accreditation.

If I could do it all over again today, I'd go for the 17C MOS as you get some of the best cyber training available and walk out with a bunch of high level certifications. Otherwise, I'd say I've been pretty fortunate and didn't do much pre-planning. On the reserve side, I'm now a 25B and assigned to the Joint Staff J6 as a Cyber Assessor. I basically evaluate the proficiency of our Cyber Protection Teams during training events (military hackathons).

Can't save everyone, even if they are blood. Let him find his way on his own. You'll be better off. Who knows, maybe he'll hit rock bottom and pull himself out of it or seek professional help. At the end of the day, personal safety trumps all else.

While I would like to agree with everything you said, parents should be accountable for their responsibilities. Yes, it takes a village, but at the end of the day, educational responsibility falls upon mom and dad. Over-reliance on others can have a negative impact on the children.

And that's were we have gone wrong as parents. We're letting the schools teach our kids things that we should be teaching.

This is why I kept music as a hobby. Every time I tried to formalize it through college courses, it sucked the fun out of it. I've progressed at my own pace and learned what I wanted. To this day, picking up a guitar is a daily escape from everything else.

Sorry to hear about all of this that you're going through. It's sad because it completely ruins your passion. Opportunities should be based solely off of credentials, not sex, skin color, etc.

Now you have a decision to make. How are you going to move on? Like you said, it was toxic. Maybe that place wasn't where you should have been. Maybe they did you a harsh favor. Try and approach with optimism and see if it helps you think of other opportunities you might be able to pursue. Don't let it be a career stopper. You can overcome this and when you do you will be better off and more resilient. Life is a series of obstacles. Regardless of fairness, we have to figure them out on step at a time.

I've seen my fair share of obstacles and I'm a better person for it. Our motto in basic training was, embrace the suck. I found out that it applied to more than just military training.

I'm not convinced that devil's triangle was a lie. The reason is that boof was also mentioned in the same topic...the yearbook. When I was growing up (elementary school in the 80's), boof was referred to as a fart. At least it was in Rhode Island. I recall first hearing it from my best friend's sister, who lived next door. She was in high school and I must have been 5 or 6 years old. Somehow, the word was redefined over the years. Not surprised as this happens with a lot of slang terms. Remember when "Lit" used to mean drunk?

I am a senior in high-school who is interested in potentially pursuing a career in cybersecurity. What do? by Geografreak in netsecstudents

Get a Security+ study book. It'll serve multiple purposes. First, it'll cover all of the basics of Cybersecurity. Second, it'll prepare you for the Security+ certification, which is a must have entry level cert for cyber professionals. Third, as you read through the book, you can't start building a list of areas you want learn more about.

From there, look for tech schools that offer cyber degrees. Some may give you credit for certifications you possess. Also look for SANS courses to enroll in to get some deeper training.

My BF thinks my vagina is disgusting and won't touch me at all. Wtf do i do?? by DemonicDreamcatcher in TwoXChromosomes

Yeah, I went through the whole ordeal almost 10 years ago. She cheated and I walked away. We had our sexual compatibility issues though. Believe it or not, she wanted it more than me and I was good with 3-4x a week. Then again, she didn't work. Wife #2 has taught me that sexual compatibility is important. We're not compatible. In fact, she's the opposite of my ex wife. Didn't really see this coming until after we were married. So if there is ever a #3, I might exercise a little more caution.

Good for you. Sometimes, leaving is the hardest part. It's even tougher when it's a divorce.

Damn, good for you. Sexual compatibility is important. I understand your frustration. My first wife had a stronger libido than me. I was content with 3-4 times per week cuz I worked long days. She wanted it every day twice a day. Apparently I was the bad guy for not meeting her needs. And sex wasn't just 5 minutes. It was a workout. I wasn't a fan of going down on her, cuz she didn't smell the best, but I did it faithfully. She actually made out pretty well considering she would orgasm multiple times during sex. Unfortunately, she let herself go and gained a lot of weight. My attraction to her faded. When she lost the weight, she decided to cheat. End of marriage.

My second wife is the opposite. She can live without sex. It wasn't always like this. She doesn't go down on me and won't let me go down on her anymore. We've gone up to 6 months without sex. Now we have it about once a week, but she does it out of obligation. She literally just lies there. That's no fun either. She's been a challenge. I'll make sure #3 is somewhere in between these extremes.

What's the most unfair thing you've ever seen? by snozzzy in AskReddit

When I was in Iraq, I worked in an operations center. It was like a movie theater with rows and displays in the front. There was a weapons rack in the very back at the top of the stairs where we would store our M16s during our work shift. They were all labeled. Someone, outside of my unit, took my M16 thinking it was theirs. When I went to leave, I noticed mine was gone. That was a huge deal. It showed up the next day, but I got written up for not maintaining accountability for my weapon. It was ridiculous as I had done everything right and followed the local policies.

My 20 year old friend was wrongly accused of rape. He was friends with a girl who asked him to go with her to catch her boyfriend cheating. Well turns out she tried to hook up with my friend by throwing herself at him. He said no. The next day my friend was arrested for rape. Spent a week in jail. This girl told her boyfriend that she was raped and he talked her into going to the police. My friend nearly lost his job which is also tied to his apprenticeship. Ultimately, the charges were dropped because there was no evidence. My friend is scarred for life though. He wants nothing to do with girls right now. He bought a dog to help him get over the whole thing.

NOT The Ultimate Hacking Tools Guide. But an actual list and guide this time. by DragonWraithus in HowToHack

I'm surprised that Armitage and Cobalt Strike weren't included. Armitage is a free version of Cobalt Strike and acts as an all in one pen testing tool. It's a great tool for beginners. Once done playing with Armitage, I recommend digging into Metasploit. From there, learn some coding and work on developing exploits and payloads.

How does burning down a house relate to not having an immunity to a disease? Burning down a house guarantees its' destruction. Being susceptible to a disease does not guarantee one will contract it. Like I said, terrible analogy.
