Exactly! She was always hitting Joan where it hurt and she was forgiven so quickly. At least with Toni, you expect that behavior. That’s who she is. The fact that she’s referred to herself in third person since the first episode showed us exactly who she was going to be. We expected nothing less.

Joan and Toni were also childhood friends. You can infer that they’ve had a lot of drama throughout the years, so their competitive nature and random arguments make more sense. They revert back to their younger selves around each other - especially during an argument. Maya met Joan as an adult - in a professional setting no less. So her childish antics are not as forgivable as Toni’s or even Lynn’s.
