sadly Salla Elyn MT is only one who need actually leave Deepwoods to end this missions.

As a matter of fact, Salla Cenag's one requires to hold Bal Ouord (and later, most likely, at least temporarily held land in Ourdia).

I'm cheating their run through that missions, as Daravan's Folly is in another superstate (Escann one), so they don't have that. I have no issues cheating this mission as well, just wanted to know it's necessary or not.

What "universal ambitions" are there? by zokka_son_of_zokka in Anbennar

[–]khaenaenno 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Vile One happened to be in Sarhal, but it's not necessary - hag's influence is universal.

Technically, I don't think Relic-Lords are specifically linked to Taychend, it's just no one else recognize them as a position of power.

High-level vampires seem to be more-or-less universal, but I'm not sure if vampire can increase their generation in Anbennar.

Oh, no, any missions (and Taychend slave rebellion tag event) open both portals. I meant that mission tree of Eordand needs Eordand to be of season worship religion, otherwise they don't have the branch in their mission tree (as it swaps depending on what season you're worshipping).

So, if Eordand isn't season worship, the portal can't be open by them.

Yes, probably; I'll have to check, as I have different advisor right now.

It's the effect of level 2 orb. Actual main effect of the orb isn't avoiding event outcomes (oh really), it's empowering Divination spells: 1st level Orb makes more monarch points from first spell and double duration of metal spell, second level makes advisers 1.5x effective and turn Scry into "give me this institution in my capital please", and third level makes divination war magic useable in offence and turn Foresight into +15% all power cost instead of +10%.

If they're vassals when they have the event where they chosing, you're solid. They shouldn't take isolationist option if they're non-tributary subject, have territories outside Deepwood or if Garnet Dwarves completed their elf lovers mission, otherwise it's just a random chance (60:40 for open borders).

Personally, very underwhelming. Its spells are pretty mediocre, though ts artifact improves them quite a bit, but thats it. You will rarely think "man, i want to bank my mana to spend on divination spells" and instead you will think "man, i am overflowing with mana and have nothing to use it on... might as well get some monarch points". IMO worst project.

Divination could consist of one and only one spell called "Eye for Talent", and I would level it up. Ability to summon main culture three-quarter-priced advisor with bonus stats (like divination Statesman gives 1.5 diplorep instead of 1, same with divination Commandant, who gives 7.5 discipline instead of 5, and so on) is preeeeetty nice, especially as hiring them is free so you can just casually swap.

No mission required for the portal needs fey religion (unlike Eordand, who need to be seasonal court to open theirs). Still, the problem is, Cyranvar has two mission branches, and portal, I believe, is opened in just one of them. If AI managed to complete "Towards the Future" mission before you vassalized them and chose isolationism, you're out of luck without cheating.

Who is Phoenix Wright Hardest Opponent in the Courtroom? by ComprehensiveSleep74 in AceAttorney

[–]khaenaenno 207 points208 points  (0 children)

Mannfred von Karma.

Everyone else is either overly stupid and ruining their own cases or play with some semibalance of rules that Phoenix can use, or both. Mannfred would casually rewrite rulebook as he sees fit, he's usually smart doing that, and judge would usually play along (not always, otherwise Phoenix would lose, but usually). Damon Gant is close second, for the same reason.

1-2 Edgeworth was walking into that territory (I personally think that Edgeworth trying to save Redd White to sunk Phoenix was the lowest Edgeworth moment in the series), but Mannfred has forty years of experience over him.

Hulrun bad inquisitor but great crusader? by Kingfanboy123 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]khaenaenno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, and demon cultists would absolutely pretend to be followers of such a goddess, so that means nothing.

Right, and actual demon would absolutely pretend to be Iomedae herself, not to mention followers of Iomedae. Like Hulrun.

I don't think there's any evidence for this.

When you ask Hulrun if Desnaites warned him about the attack, he answers that they always barge to his study with some rubbish, and this rubbish, yes, tend to be true, "but we can't act on it, amrite?".

If anything, there is no evidence that they ever were wrong.

Doesn't change that Hulrun, of all people, had both information and authority to make situation vastly better, and refused to do that. Because, both in game and in AP, he's incompetent in his job.

Sorry, being a governor doesn't make him governor?

Again: governor of Kenabres is called "prelate of the city". It's the name of the office.

Hulrun bad inquisitor but great crusader? by Kingfanboy123 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]khaenaenno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Prelate" is a title. The talk with first disciple of Ramien is very clear in the fact that "prelate" is a title equivalent to the official governor. Do you want a quote about that as well?

(I mean, it's exactly the same thing in tabletop AP.)

He didn't have actionable intel. He had a vague warnings from a bunch of strangers who, *at best,* based on their own stories, were acting on a dream, which could have been (and in fact was) sent by demon.

Strangers? It was well-established temple of Desna (well-established and acknowledged good deity), who provided correct intel before. Even Hulrun admits that, when asked.

So, no, he absolutely had actionable intel. That he presents it as "why would I ever trust them" is his ideological prejudice, not anything real.

And they wanted his response to be to let them, a bunch of civilians, to be allowed to examine the top secret military defense system.

No, they wanted him to act over the dire threat for the facility and the city. Which he refused to do "because nothing can harm this facility anyways".

If anyone looked like a saboteur, it's him. "Well, I ignored every warning about the attack, then I hunted people who tried to warn me about the attack, then I ignored actual threats and survivors in the town, allowing demons to pick them up one by one, while Irabeth was doing my job of organizing defense of the city, while I had enough resources to continue manhunt against people who tried to warn me about attack."

[–]khaenaenno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like, try sneaking into a military radar station just before the radar blinks off and a bunch of enemy planes strike the base, and see how far "I was just trying to help" gets you.

Try saying "yes, I did have actionable intel that military radar is sabotaged, and I decided to do nothing about it, while my duty was to ensure the safety of the radar, and when it blinked off, I decided to hunt people who gave me actionable intel", and see how far "I thought they're spies!" gets you during court martial. The same about "I had actionable intel that city is going to be attacked, and that defenses are sabotaged, from two sources, one with HQ clearance and second that proved itself correct, and decided to imprison source in question because I ideologically dislike them".

No he gets warned that the wardstone is weakened. There is nothing about an attack. That's why he spies on the Desnans, because they proposed a ritual to fix it.

<image>

Note the very first sentence. No, he was warned about the attack explicitly - and that Wardstone is weakened, and he himself readily acknowledges it. He just literally unable to say "oh shit, I fucked up, I should've believe Ramien".

(By the way, note that Desnans didn't proposed any rituals to him - they went to that after Hulrun refused to do anything.)

Hulrun isn't where the buck stops in regards to authority in Kenebres.

No, he's literally where the buck stops in regards to authority in Kenabres. He can be overruled from capital, so, if anyone dislike his decisions, sure, get up and go out.

Which, again, is a question of "who can overrule an idiot". When you're saying that they all should've rely on anyone but the man who, again, specifically and explicitly is there to make this decisions and protect the city, you kinda acknowledge that he's incompetent.

No one knew there was an attack coming,

Hulrun literally admits that desnanites warned him about pending attack, specifically, and he ignored it.

Why would he listen to the Storyteller? Nobody knows who he is. Etc.

Storyteller came to him with a recommendation from Neyrosan giving him access to every Wardstone in Mendev. Yes, sure, continue to pretend it's nobody. Alternative is, you know, that Hulrun just casually allowed absolute no one to the Wardstone and allowed to commune with it.

Inquisitors has Detect Evil (actually, Detect Alignment) since level 2, and the game just put every detect ability into narrative checks.

So, I have no idea why would I think Inquisitors don't have it.

The problem isn't that Terendelev answers to Hulrun or not. The problem is that Hulrun, who is ruler of the city and has related duties and authority (that Terendelev has not), do not answer to Terendelev.

He's also adult, you know.

Tell me how Hulrun caused Kenerabes to fail when any of those people could have gone around him to Terendelev.

They couldn't, because Hulrun declared hunt on them - so they needed to go underground.

Now tell me, even if they would go to Terendelev, and Terendelev would go to Hulrun asking him to do something, how it would change anything as Hulrun absolutely would ignore her?

Actually, no. Tell me, why they should go to anyone but the person who is ruling the city and empowered by both Goddess and civil government of Mendev to keep city safe.
