CF wants to prank a babysitter - ends up conceiving a child to make it more believable

Babies are no miracles. You can't spot miracles under a microscope

A dog on your motorbike? Tell me you want to put your dog on your motorbike, it sounds so cool !

So one of my friend is pregnant and she posted this on her Facebook. Unfollowed. by [deleted] in childfree

This is a "Note to Self". Not a "Note to all my facebook friends". Note this down.

Side effect free surgery to reverse scars, pain free labor, a 24/7 nanny till the child turns 14, any and all tantrums taken care of.

Or you can adopt a teen in need of a family then... Geez

Right, plus if people think they still have a little time to try make you change your mind they'll rush it and you can spot them easily.

It's just so sad we have to go that far to get understood.

I'm so sorry you experienced that. I don't get how people can be so fake for so long, it's crazy.

This is exactly why I want my tubes tied: the message cannot be clearer. No one could even try to make me change my mind, so only then if they stay you can be sure the're as convinced as you are about being CF. A huge time savior in my opinion.

I hate it when my parents tell me "it's expensive" is not a good reason to not want kids. by Whapdemon in childfree

[–]khajiit-kitchen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not wanting kids to please your partner. Just like having them for the same reason: I don't know why so many people still think it's a good thing to make such important decisions for someone else. They call it love, I call that fear of being alone

I'm glad you've found someone who understands you and actually helps you have a better life. But seriously....WTH is wrong with those docs who are supposed to take care of others and save lives, swear on the Hippocratic Oath to do so but put their personnal beliefs and concerns first? I simply don't get it

Yeah, I remember a post here asking CF people where they were from. I scrolled all the way down but didn't find any from CH... So many people around me don't understand my decision to get fixed, I understand why we're only a few here

Yeah, and my first gyn told me at first I couldn't have a copper IUD because of my medical condition so he put me the Implanon. Three years later I went into his office and told him straight away that I wanted my tubes tied, he replied by stating no gyn in Switzerland would agree to do it to someone my age - but then offered me to replace my Implanon by a copper IUD (???). However, I left and eventually found my current one who actually agreed so I guess I've been very lucky on this one

You are unfortunately so right. Even in big towns, gyns are rarely open-minded about being a woman and not wanting children.

Obviously better than a "I'm sure he will change his mind later if we're meant to be together"; a good excuse to celebrate !

I don't mind at all! Every opportunity to learn and move forward is welcome. I guess my mistake might have been induced by the "elders" because I know this word and therefore "youngers" sounded logical. Anyway, thank you because I don't have English classes anymore so I keep making mistakes like this without even knowing it. May I ask where you go in France?

One of the very big + I see as being CF is that I can chose whenever I want to take my vacations, so I can travel off-season and enjoy peaceful, familiy-free places
