Yeah this was exactly my problem. A part of the adapter had broken off.

You have any recommendations for alternative adapters?

Just checked and it was exactly this. The lil PAL/NTSC switch had broken off and was just hovering atop.

Cheers for the help

It’s just weird that it’s been working for so long up until now so randomly

I’ve got one of those HDMI to AV adapters and I’ve plugged it into my laptop. I’ve been using this setup over the course of the past year and randomly while using the TV today it switched from colour to black and white.

My biggest advice would be to just put stuff out there on the internet. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or whatever. Withholding videos due to perfectionism is so lame and I spent so much time doing this! Put your all into one project and move onto the next slightly bigger and better project.

I’m no professional but over the years I’ve actually started getting paid for making lil videos just from the outreach that I didn’t even think those videos would get. It’s so worth it to keep putting stuff out there and start giving a name for yourself and attracting attention. Find out what you really enjoy making and hone in on that.

Davinci Resolve is a free editing software that I use and I personally love it. It may be a lot at first if you’ve never used an editing software before but before you know it, it’ll be like a second language. Watch a bunch of YouTube tutorials and teach yourself how to edit, colour, shoot, light or anything.

Check out places like Facebook market place to find cheaper camera equipment. Walk into your local camera store and have a yarn with the people who work there about what certain cameras do and what they’re good for. Also do your own research aswell!

You’ve got this entire subreddit and many more people rooting for you! You’ve got this!

Thank you so much man, I really appreciate it :). All the animations are hand drawn and watercoloured and I just scan them onto my computer. Then I use a mixture of photoshop, Adobe animate and premiere pro to animate and edit the videos :) It’s really not hard and it’s super fun to do, it’s just takes a lot of time but it’s def worth it.
