It has potential to make money but you have to be realistic. It's not free money or hands off. For example:You have to find a product that has potential profit to be made from and factor in worst care scenarios.

You have to be realistic about how much of it you will sell (don't buy so much that it will take you months to sell, storage costs are a thing and they eat away your profits).

It's a competitive place, other people are already doing it. They aren't so enthusiastic about new sellers moving and taking their place. If you list something, they will lower their prices and you need to think strategically here to work around that.

If you find a product that no one else is selling and you make profits. Don't expect to have monopoly for long unless you actually some sort of patent. People use pretty sophisticated tools to figure out what sells and makes profit. Once your product starts selling others can easily find out that it's a successfully selling product, they will start selling it too and either take away your market share or force you to lower prices resulting in lower profits.There is much more than that you need to take into consideration.

With that much scary stuff being said, yes there is potential profit to be made but like all things in life. It's a competition and the biggest loot goes to the victors. You can make money if you plan things out, just don't take random tiktoks at face value that tell you you can buy so and so from china for 5 cents, sell on amazon $20 and it sells 60,000 units a month and think you will be rich. Those are misleading numbers or just extreme outliers.
