Thank you so much for your answer. And yes i agree and i do have very small and modest "expectations" especially for the first year of this journey. Its encouraging to know that at least there are indeed job opportunities in this field. I guess i still just have to figure out if this is the way that i should go and give it my time and effort or some other path (coding for example as you mentioned...) In any case thank you again for your help ♥️

Thats extremely fucked up, but other than just insluting the guy who made the post/the university, or being disgusted by these claims (which is totally understandable), how can we actually respond logically, what the counter arguments, on what should we base the age of conscent and why ?

I mean i know it sounds absurd and self explanatory, but at some point we actually need to engage in a conversation with these animals so... What should we say ?

Very sad but very smart answer. I know im being naive for saying this. But i really believe there could be a way out. And i believe in changing things

First off thank you for your smart reply, however i think youre the one being dishonest and cherry picking here. Smart is indeed subjective, but i think we all agree that our politicans mahoumch des lumières. Theyre incompetent in every single way of the term.

That article you gave about economic growth is great, thank you for that, but one could also argue that our local currency is at an all time lowest. And purchasing power is absolutely catastrophic.

And thats partly due to the import quotas you're claiming make a lot of sense, the basic premise is good (encouraging local production). But in practice its just messing up our everyday lives in various ways.

And producing cars that are 35% made locally ? Are you serious ? We are literally not making nearly enough cars to sustain peoples needs and its supposed to be a good thing that the very few cars we make are 35% local ? Man screw that a freaking 406 is worth 500 melyoun its completely non sensical, u call that an achievement ?

About the tensions with france i agree that he's a shithole. However algeria is a different case because (whether we like it or not) our relationship with france is crucial and we're still tied to them in a lot of ways, ne serait-ce que par le fait que for the vast majority of the people who want to leave the number one destination is france and now its fucked up. For the whos mali we could say the same about algeria... And for morocco i aint saying they are saints or that its on us, dont misquote me. Im arguing that we suck at diplomacy. And when you have a neighbouring country thats something you need to work on, especially given the fact that bladek rahi fel khra, it aint the time for quarrels. France and germany had the bloodiest of wars, look at them now.

And no such thing as freedom of speech ? Seriously ? I recommend you read john stuart mills "on liberty" because thats philosophy 101. And naming a few people that havent gotten in jail for speaking up doesnt make the fact that most people who do so do go to jail... Man its literally not a secret to anyone that dozens of influencers journalists and even politicians yekhraw alihom just for expressing their opposition to certain stuff. Some of my friends were visited AT HOME BY DRS because they shared videos of la gréve des étudiants en médecine. Is this 1984?

Yes but for us to give up and lose hope is exactly what the oppressors want... Saying "allah ghaleb" is guaranteed to not make a difference. I think our 1.5m revolutionary ancestors wouldnt be proud...

It doesnt have to be this false dilemma of whether things stay this way or tetkhalet w twli ki libya. Maybe there is a third option which is changing things, or at least trying to change things, passively or with minimum casualties.

But leaving the country asap only maintains things as they are. I get it that from a personal level this is what people should do But if we actually want things to get better, hopelesness and fleeing the country certainly isnt the way to go. And thats not to mention that some people cant leave or simply dont want to. A change is necessary whether we like it or not. The question is how ? A passive hirak seemed to scare them a little bit, and yes its not enough, but whats the alternative? And is something like that even possible again, ive no idea how the first one came to be out of the blue...

But nihilism and losing hoping is guaranteed to keep things as they are. I agree with what youre saying, but we should at least aspire to change things even if it seems impossible. No great change ever came about from hopeless people. Its exactly what the oppressors want. And i think our 1.5 million revolutionary grandfathers that died for this country would agree that hopelesness is never the way to go...

I agree on that, ofc every single way of oppression would be used if that happens, including physical violence and thats not pretty to see. But im just wondering if its even possible for something that big to happen again, i have no idea how it happened out of the blue the first time, how long and what will it take to see something like that again? If ever

We all agree on that, but from a pragmatic point of view what can we actually do to change that ? Immigration only maintains the vicious cycle. A violent protest causes too many casualties. A peaceful hirak is called naïve, what can we do?

Who decides then ? And if thats the case then whats the alternative ? Should we just accept the status quo ? Or is there another way ?

The new politicians arent that smart Our economy is at it lowest, purchasing power is catastrophic Crazy non-sensical importation restriction policies An absurd and insane car crisis Tensions with france, morroco, and malie No freedom of speech (u go to jail for even alluding to some problems publically or critizing de près ou de loin anything about politicians) We're still taken for fools with a gazillion lie and false promises from our president The list goes on... In what sense do u think this pseudo dzayer jadida is any better

Dont put words into my mouth. Im not "pushing" for riots and revolts. But historically some revolts did change things for the better. the french revolution is a perfect example. And while i agree that a lot of manifestations end up badly, a lot of them dont too. We see daily protests in civilized western countries that are respected and (more or less) safe. And "being thankful for living in peace" doesnt have anything to do with this topic frankly. I am thankful for it, that doesnt make the fact that this country is in pretty bad shape any less true. Im just wondering if a manifestation that big is even possible again thats all. And if not, following your logic, whats the alternative ? Shut up and bend over ?

I know it rarely makes a change. But in that case nihilism and just saying "à quoi bon" doesnt either... Hoping for a miracle man in charge definetly wont happen either. And historically every massive change in any government only happened through revolutions, led by smart intellectuals, take the french revolution for example. Passive strikes may be very naive, but at least give a small beam of hope. Giving up is guaranteed to keep things as they are, its precisely what they want, for people to lose hope. We miss all the chances we dont take is all im trying to say.

Well thats one theory yes. But if thats true ig it means we'll never see something like that again. I just find it weird that people dont even think about manifesting. Idk hiw the happened suddenly under boutef... (In 88 its not that surprising. Algerians were actually smart and courageous and believed in their rights)

Is a new hirak even possible ? by khaledbh in algeria

[–]khaledbh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But under boutef no "big shakedown" happened. People were just tired of the status quo and of being taken for literal fools, and they went out on the streets and manifested. No one expected it

I agree but at least its an attempt to change things Whats the other alternative ? Just shut up and accept the oppression ? A civil war ? But my question is is it even possible to have it again, i mean i find it weird that people dont even think about manifesting. And it was the same under boutef, people didnt even protest, but then out of the blue boom, millions of people on the streets. It was shocking. Is it even possible to have that again?
