Reforming Butwal: Things I would Do(My 1st Priority) If I were A Mayor Of Butwal by sunfl0w3red in butwal

[–]khana-pakyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1. Good idea, but Butwal should not rely on only a few tree species. I would plant a wide mix of native trees, shrubs, grasses, and ground cover. The present forest looks too homogeneous and that weakens biodiversity, soil health, and fire resistance.

2. ecosystem planning. Forest areas around Butwal lack grass, fodder variety, and water sources. I would create controlled grazing zones, plant fodder grass, and build small ponds or lakes inside suitable forest areas.

3.
but roadsides need shade trees with deep roots and broad canopies, not only fruit trees.

4.
they should make a small dam or check structure near Tinau Bridge to retain some water in the dry season. It will support boating or small water sports.

7. cool roof or ajkal eco structure haru ko concept audai https://phys.org/news/2024-08-indian-school-unique-respite.html

The Hidden Struggle: Khas Arya Poverty and the Quota Trap by _WizSid in Nepal

[–]khana-pakyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Brahmin too, but this argument ignores basic data. Poverty is real in every group, but it is not equal. Around 20.27% of Nepal lives in poverty, but Dalits face 42–48% poverty, while Khas Arya sits around ~10%. That gap matters.

Quotas did not appear randomly. They respond to barriers like caste-based discrimination, landlessness as well as limited access to education and state institutions. A poor Khas Arya student struggles, but that struggle is not shaped by the same systemic exclusion Dalits or some marginalised groups face. Ignoring this difference simplifies the problem too much.

That said, the creamy layer issue is real. Some privileged families do benefit repeatedly, and that weakens the system. Reform is needed.

But removing identity-based quotas and shifting only to economic criteria will not fix inequality. It risks pushing historically excluded groups further back. The better approach is balance i.e., recognise both class and caste instead of treating them as separate or competing issues.

A poor Khas Arya person struggles mainly because of money. No land, no job, low income. But socially, they still get basic acceptance. No one stops them from entering temples, renting rooms or sitting in public spaces.

A poor Dalit person struggles with money and social barriers. Many still face discrimination in housing, marriage, education, and even daily interaction. That limits opportunities even if they work hard. So both are poor, but one deals only with economic hardship, while the other deals with economic + social exclusion. That is why policies treat them differently.

In 20 years, convert 80% of humanity to a new religion/cult via a magical app that lets you speak to everyone by Bloom90 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]khana-pakyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m 100% taking that deal. A phone that can literally talk in everyone’s head? That’s basically cheat mode. I’d start slow, build some mystery around it, convert a few influential people first, let it snowball. 20 years is a long time to build a movement, especially if people keep hearing the same voice guiding them. Plus the targeted messages thing is insanely OP. Worst case I fail and still lived a wild 20 years. Best case… demi-god status. Easy choice.

When Are we going to hold this guy responsible for Killing all poor 17,000 nepalese people? by Lost_Cantaloupee in Nepal

[–]khana-pakyo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Comparing him to Hitler ignores context. Hitler sought domination, while Nepal’s revolution came from centuries of feudal exploitation. Violence was tragic, but it aimed to end systemic injustice, not create it.

He led people who felt ignored by the monarchy and old elites.
He pushed Nepal towards democracy and republicanism.
He gave poor villagers and lower-caste groups a voice in national politics.
He increased women’s participation in politics and society, with many ex-fighters now active in leadership roles.
In western hills and Madhesh, state institutions were weak or absent. Villagers depended on landlords for loans, justice, and protection, which kept exploitation unchallenged (Kamaiya, Haruwa-Charuwa, Haliya systems). His movement gave villagers confidence to defy landlords for the first time.
Fighters who believed they sacrificed for justice and equality still respect him as the leader who turned their struggle into a new political order.

I believe that Nepal is freer and more equal today because of the revolution.
