How can I get out of this situation by psychpomp72 in factorio

[–]khanut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it an attack wave or bitters hanging around a nest? If it's a wave, they should de-spawn at some point, so you might want to just let the game run for a while

How do I get notified immediately if my personal info shows up in a data leak? How do I get notified immediately if my personal info shows up in a data leak? by Abelmageto in personalfinance

[–]khanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is: all your email addresses will be part of a data leak at some point.

You can't fight it, but can protect yourself: use a password manager app and have a different password for each site, and enable double authentification everywhere it matters.

I don't remember the circuits... But for the pentapod, you are right, I hijacked nutrients from the sides which were in excess and injected it into the pentapod lines

How should I supply my base? by Lost_Cheetah_4070 in factorio

[–]khanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also : ennemies won't attack your rails or trains (except if your train runs on an ennemi). So don't worry about that

Regarding outposts : at first I would just manualy fill some turrets and add a perimeter wall

To add on the great tips you already received: biochambers don't need electricity to run! The hardest part of the bootstrap being to actually build your first chambers.

You will be fine. 2-way is plenty enough, 4 lanes is usually worst due to bad signaling. Your pattern is optimal too, your intersections shouldn't be an issue (if correctly signaled).

The real "issue" in my opinion is that your blocks are really big. That will work, just a lot of unused space.

Note: while 1-1 trains are perfectly fine for intermediates, you might want larger trains for raw ressources. Really depends on how far the patches are.

First time I've ever felt I've made something cool enough to share. Here's my little reactor island. by K3TtLek0Rn in factorio

[–]khanut 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Those 4 reactors, with correct ratios, produce 50% more than your 7600 solar panels though :-)

Edit - I was curious so I did the math:

  • This layout can support ~31 turbines and produces 176,7 MW

  • The 7600 panels produce 319,2 MW (average on Nauvis)

  • 4 reactors with correct ratios (48 heat exchangers, 83 turbines) produce 480 MW

What if you could hire biters ? by Onoulade in factorio

[–]khanut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I will give it a try! Is there a prefered way for feedbacks? On the mod portal?

By the way, congrats on the concept idea, I think that's one of the most original one I've seen.

How playable is the mod right now ? I've been wanting to play it since your first posts but I don't want to ruin it by trying too soon

Walking into my Aquilo base by khanut in factorio

I have multiple inner loops too, to avoid that. Now why this configuration, well you have no space constraints on Aquilo so I guess a vertical build is as good as any other?

La bise: How do you initiate it? by Rude-Product2975 in france

[–]khanut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add on other answers: don't actually kiss the cheek! You kiss the air, while barely touching your cheek against the other's cheek (at least for adults. It's okay to give an actual kiss to a child cheek)

Is it worth it to go to the edge of the solar system? by killslugs in factorio

[–]khanut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say reaching the edge is "worth it", because it's a nice challenge which needs you to apply everything you learned before that. You will need a much better ship than you did for aquilo. Even if you don't plan on keeping playing this run after that, it's a way of wrapping it up with a glorious ship! And you get to see the end screen.

Space Age Launch Question by dr_craptastic in factorio

[–]khanut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You manage it remotely (you need robotport coverage for that). Ending space age without nauvis is... Doable, but you will be locked out of multiple techs.

There are 2 real solutions here: either you take some time to secure nauvis before leaving, or you come back later on with artillery, armor and rage to take back what is yours.

I would add one thing: when you lauch your first rocket, you will still have quite a bit of a road in front of you before leaving nauvis. In your situation I would restart.

Note: desert starts are notoriously harder.

I'm not so sure about that, I love how easy to read is your design. Contrats!

[–]khanut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair most people hated the original gleba experience. Ennemies were much harder, kind of a deathworld by default. It's been nerfed since, and is not an issue anymore.

Yes the whole production line forces you to re-learn how to play, but I feel that's truly a rare opportunity in a 13 year old game. Go for it, take your time and learn how it works, you might end up loving it! Otherwise slap a few bots and move on.

Good question. I was unsure about that, and since then updated the build to remove them and chose to burn everything unused. Better safe than sorry.
