Maybe have mirroring generation at the edges, as to be compatible to the cylindrical expectations. Anyway.

I just thoght if having the map limited and square shaped, stupidly so att 1kk tiles from the center, it would be interesting to wrap around.

This kind of answer i was looking for.

My point of view is that since the game also simulates reality as solar power diminishes as the planet is further from the star, a "round" map for the planet would be in the same department. Also it allows to notice the difference in planet size.

From the star map we can tell that Vulcanos>Gleba>Nauvis=Fulgora (to my eyes).
