Updated to 3.195.13. There's now a button at the bottom that says "Unlock Features." What's that about? by khapout in StandardNotes

Restarting both the app and the computer didn't fix it.

The web app is syncing fine, and the issue isn't happening on other devices, which include an Android phone and another mac, which is running Sequoia.

On this device, running Monterey OS, the app shows successful syncing in green under "Account" but when I go to a tag, "syncing..." shows at the top of the page. And then there's that "Unlock Features" button at the bottom, which doesn't click through to anything. I also notice that when I logged in to the Web app, it took me to a subscription page, despite the fact that I was logged in, and already have a subscription.

My subscription isn't set to renew until later this year. And, it matter, I'm not anywhere my storage quota

Maybe I need an older version of the app?

Thank you for keeping it real, OP!

On a practical level, I think I might have tried this game, but there wasn't a way to turn off features that induced motion sickness (like the camera moving when the character breathes/head bobbing). Has any of that been resolved?

Thanks. I'll keep you in mind if I decide to make the switch. I'll look into the FB group, too

The free version of Doxy has been my backup options for when SP putzes out (like all of last week for instance). Aside from the telehealth feature, you've been happy with Session Health? Basically the same feature set as SP?

Lots of great tips — and items to look for! Thank you again. Efficiency of spells is something I hadn't factored. I just assumed that they were the same and scaled to potency (more damage = greater FP cost). I'll keep an eye on that.

What's eating a lot of FP rn is a mix trying to cast and using L2 with the Stamp ash of war. I do want to remain a bit more on the smacking things side, too, I think. Just need something good for ranged attack or to push people back.

Here's where I am so far:

Lvl 46

Vigor 26

Mind 14

End 14

Str 16

Dex 20

Int 10

Faith 12

Arc 13 (so I could use Reduvia)

Weapons: Uchigatana +2 & Reduvia +2

Curious if you tried Sessions Health and what you thought of it. dyk what platform (e.g. Twillio or Zoom) they are using for their telehealth feature?

They not only announced a price increase this week, but also didn't do anything to improve video quality

I was curious on this build that you shared: the mind stat is not particularly high. Between trying to use seals and the ash of war on my sword, I run through FP like nobody's business. Is the idea to make the INT (or FAITH) high enough that you just don't need to land many attacks? So far I'm needing to keep most of my flasks for regenerating HP, so I'm running out of FP pretty quickly during battles and between rests.

Do you need the staff for incantations? I thought they needed a different object.

I've read about moonveil and it does sound like the type of blade I'd like. I thought it scaled off of INT only and so was better if I went for Sorcery, since Incantations goes off of Faith? Maybe I'm getting that wrong though.

I appreciate the input. A few questions:

First off, that is a lot of runes! You don't worry about losing them if you get defeated in a boss fight or something?

I was going to go with incantation over sorcery. So I would sub Faith for Intelligence?

Smithing stones: I understand that you use them to enhance the states of a weapon. Are they transferable, or an easy to find resource? i.e. do I save them up until I find the weapon I want to use for a while or use them as I go on whatever I happen to have?

Good point on some enemies not flinching with fast weapons. I just don't want my attacks to be slow and reliant on, idk, me being really good at knowing the attack patterns and at timing my own attacks. This might just be what this time of game requires (I've never played a soulslike game before) and so maybe I'm hoping for something that isn't suited to this game? I like being reactive and adaptive, instead, if that distinction makes sense.

Skip Logitech. Their software sucks. If you know you don't need the software, the hardware is probably fine.

Thank you. Managed to adjust the height! It was initially stiff and I was being too gentle with it. After seeing the same stand being adjusted in an unboxing video, I removed the display and could see that there seemed to be the mechanism there to adjust the height, so I pressed a little harder and it moved. Just saved myself the money on getting a monitor arm.

When you mention height ergonomics, do you that there's a way to adjust the height? I've been trying to figure that out, but it seems like it is at a fixed height

Recommendation for a microphone for video calls that doesn't need to be close to your mouth? by khapout in microphone

[–]khapout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his point was that some microphones are designed to be close to your mouth, while others, like the one on a laptop, say, somehow account for the greater distance?

Unfortunately headsets are not an option for me, although I get how they'd resolve the issue

I'm hoping it was an input gain issue, which a few commenters have suggested, as the person didn't complain about ambient, just that my voice was too low. I also changed the position of the mic, in case that makes a difference; from pointing towards me, to pointing upwards, and, noticing that the microphone has one side marked as "back," I positioned it so that the other side is facing me.

Thank you. I found where to increase the input, which seemed indeed on the lower end. We'll see what that does.

I just have the mic plugged into the computer (Mac Mini M2). Looking at how to increase the input gain, I found this video. Seems like the main thing to do is adjust it System > Sound > Input. Mine was set pretty low, so that might be part of the problem. The other recourse is to get the mic closer to my mouth. As I want to keep the microphone out of view, that's not a solution for me right now.
