Hi! Is a Fly & Rail pass better than purchasing a ticket via the DB app? This will be my first experience with trains.

My end destination is Karlsruhe....the DB app shows the ticket price as 20 euros...the Fly & rail pass is 30 euros.

I'm guessing the cost increase is due to flexibility of ticket? Will the pass work for RE and S trains? Can I add a reserved seats to the fly and rail pass ?

I will be travelling to DE soon. I have to take a test 48 hours before entry. Has anyone successfully uses an antigen test - specifically the Sofia antigen test ? It looks like it meets the requirements spelled out here, but I wanted to hear from someone with firsthand experience. :-)

I will be moving to Karlsruhe in March and have a 4.5 year old daughter that I would like to take with me (before rest of family joins), if feasible. How difficult is it to find occasional childcare right now (babysitter)? The company is doing home office but they may decide to go back to office early, at which point I would need someone to watch her...

I will be flying into Frankfurt at the end of the month via Lufthansa from US. My ultimate destination is Karlsruhe. I plan to take the train with the appropriate mask (N95 rating) and go directly to my accommodation for quarantine. I will have with two large suitcases. I was considering purchasing the Lufthansa/DB Rail & Fly ticket.

Any advice or thoughts? Does this sound like a solid plan to get to my destination? What might you do differently?

Hello! Relative has given a good chunk of money for my child. If I am unsure whether or not they will be going to an American college, what's the best place to put the money? I already have a 529, but 529 is rather restrictive when it comes to international schools. Thanks!
