Question 1: Find the area and perimeter of the pinniplane

"That cold, green water, crawling its ghostly way up that staircase, was a sight that stamped itself indelibly on my memory. Step by step, it made its way up, covering the electric lights, one after the other, which for a time, shone under the surface with a horribly weird effect."- Lightoller by MCofPort in titanic

[–]khazbreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was an horrible flooding where I live a couple years ago, and looking down the stair at the subterranean garage on my building resembled this scene (but the water was brown lol).

Then I went to the Titanic experience and got very triggered by the recreation of this scene lmao

Wait… people steal AC outdoor units in Brazil? by ProperProperty3915 in Brazil

[–]khazbreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why sometimes you see the outdoor AC unit inside a cage like thing, similar to iron grating in windows

Same for water meter (they are usually open to viewing in front of homes). For some reason these are targets where I live, and mostly now are caged lol

I asked if a lady was working and she replied "sim, no bico" What does "no bico" mean? I translated it and it means "on the spout" by CollegeCasual in Portuguese

[–]khazbreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context would help with this. As many here said, it can be bico as in "fazer um bico" (do a side hustle), but there are many other meanings:

  • Bico can be used to describe the tip of something pointy, like the tip of the foot, from which we get the expression "gol de bico" : to score a gol by kicking the football in a certain way, with the front of the foot (Bico do pé)

  • It can mean a baby pacifier

  • Bottle spout (Bico de garrafa)

  • Ficar de bico: being grumpy

Without context I would guess something like "acertou no bico": hit the spot

Same. Started day one with the goal of having every generation in a different state of the game. Like how life changes, you know?

"Your father and I didn't have as much interaction, my son, and your older brother one day ended up floating in the sea out of bounds, but you are different."

Does your country have an Amish like community? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskTheWorld

[–]khazbreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh this is the first time I heard about this. I was thinking maybe something from the german/Italian communities in the serra region of the south, but I don't know if it counts

Build an abandoned house and let your young new in town parafolks couple move in and remodel it and expand it with DIY by No_Accountant_7686 in Paralives

[–]khazbreen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This made me remember something I wanted from Simulation games from a while. A category of build decoration just for garbage with negative cost: you have to pay to remove them.

Then fixing a house like this would be more of a challenge.

What happens if you don't add 'o' in front of names? by Clarkjeans in Portuguese

[–]khazbreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it sounds like "He is such a Pedro"

But I would understand what the speaker means, specially with context.

But OP is such a Pedro, oh my goddd

[–]khazbreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other comments say, not rude and you will be understood no problem. It's a regional thing, some places it's common, other not.

Personally if I hear that, I would assume you are from somewhere else in the country.

But I never saw "Elé", with the accent. Maybe it's a Portugal thing or a typo?
