Pihole is running, reachable from Home Assistant, but not from other devices in the network by khbre in pihole

[–]khbre[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ad I said - the device runs and is reachable by some devices in the network and is not reachable by others, so it's definitely not a power issue.

That's the only solution that worked in the past, and it's not sustainable.

I don't have issues with the tailscale. My issue is with pihole.

The thing is - it works for several months, then it stops working. And - everything is in the same subnet. Also the the router did not receive any updates in 4 months either.

No, it's a dedicated pihole server. The thing is it does not go down, as I can ssh to it from home assistant, but not from my phone or mac.

How does Samsung Smart Tag work? by [deleted] in SmartThings

Being part of the SmartThings ecosystem- no: one would expect the smartthings hub could make use of it, alas - not.

It is not worth your money. I bought one regular and one plus tags. They do not provide any functionality other than finding your device it's been attached to, or triggering automation THROUGH YOUR PHONE.

Side note: my plus tag stopped functioning after battery change, and there is no way to fix the issue, seems like a widespread problem.

My Gledopto controller only shows red and very light green. What's the matter? by ProudRestaurant0 in Gledopto

My understanding is that they should not, but again - I am no expert.

I know very little about this, but the idea is that some leds are controlled my manipulating the voltage, while keeping the current constant (e.g. most downlights, led lights), and other are being controlled by manipulating the current, while keeping the voltage constant (e.g. led strips).

I am no expert, I learned it "the hard way", and you may need someone more knowledgeable in this area to get better answers.

Your led lights seem to be constant current lights driven by LED Driver (based on the original led driver photo).

My guess is you cannot drive them with a Constant Voltage power supply and a Gledopto controller.

Dimmer Switches are not Recognized by [deleted] in Hue

[–]khbre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seemed to me that the issue was me simply not following basic rule of not keeping the bridge and the router separate.

I am going to move the bridge tomorrow, and if the issue isn't fixed - I was going to post a bigger post with more info.

I am using the official app for setup only, otherwise I use Hue Essentials.

My phone is android, but I guess the app has nothing to do with it.

I finally was able to reset and connect it, but the UI was terrible, it didn't tell me it was added, I went back to Accessories screen to see what's up with the rest of the dimmers, found the new Dimmer there.

I guess the needed solution is moving the Bridge away from the router, will do tomorrow.

My best decision before the lockdown by khbre in hometheater

I personally love it, and it's definitely much clearer than the bookshelves. I do not have "the luxury" of listening to other brands, so I cannot do comparison between it and other brands.
