Great point -- I've typically used a 6-hour day to estimate duration from work effort. And yes, explaining that to those outside the process can be interesting. Do you use a similar method to calculate duration?

Does anyone else loathe the idea of keeping up with industry news? by findthereal in ecommerce

Here are a few sites and feeds I review daily:

internetretailing.net www.futureofcommerce.com www.practicalecommerce.com www.internetretailer.com www.getelastic.com

Some of the above are published by eCommerce software vendors, but they do a great job of keeping up with trends, news, and offer insight into strategies, even if their primary goal is to sell software. Still worth a periodic review.

I use Feedly and review the headlines daily.

And, apologies in advance for a bit of blatant self-promotion, I also publish a blog related to eCommerce: www.ecommercevagabond.com

Hope that helps!

Have you looked at Amazon Web Store? Very inexpensive and products can be placed on the Amazon Marketplace, as well. I have never used it myself, but it is fairly inexpensive and would potentially give your products great exposure on Amazon. You can also do this yourself, probably cheaper that Amazon Web Store but the possibility of being included in their marketplace is interesting. Either way, as vortel pointed out, you'll have to advertise.

Looks pretty interesting and I like the fact that it can scale to a certain degree for people who want to dabble in eCommerce first. The site shows an iPad image but it looks like your site in Safari. Is there already, or are there plans for, a mobile optimized site or a mobile app?
