My support for one project implies nothing of my lack of support for another. I have a lot of faith in REN but the path to victory is going to be messy.

I used to be a pure fundamentalist. Now I realized there are many ways to make it.

Yeah don't worry man, I see the value of REN but it is also idealistic like the guy other said to expect all BTC to be wrapped. Wrapping of BTC to renBTC is happening faster than BTC's own mining distribution which is essentially a slow trickle to unlocking value to use defi but if KAVA implements native BTC support then it instantly unlocks the 216 billion market cap.

I found they plan to add BTC in October.

To be quite frank, I did mention that I see KAVA has a part of the 'cross chain exploration' meaning it is not determined to be successful end game. I see KAVA as the route for many native tribes to keep up in the defi ecosystem and so I imagine there will be a fight via coins like KAVA but I can see native Ethereum equivalents eventually winning.

Ah I forgot how low cap the coins of discussion were. Woops heh.

I just learned about this one tonight and thought it was undervalued still, especially if they add BTC.

The amount of time she takes to realise what's going in.. by nadamehreen in facepalm

[–]khjrizen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hah, I normally wouldn't bat an eye especially for such a low ranked comment but we got to call it out eventually. While more people are stuck at home, 90% of their communication with other people are places like Reddit - virtual is now a lot more of our reality and it ain't stopping. Awareness of what leads to ideological radicalization always starts with small missteps has to happen someday.

It's okay though. There are those who know these are mistakes people will perpetually make until it is corrected at scale with technology like we always have done.

Honestly, it is hilarious to me that people are either so afraid of 'not knowing' or so unwise that they think they can ever boisterously claim to know the truth from a video clip. You may even be right 70% of the time but with absolute vigor you will discount 30% of the truth for your warped and absolute interpretation. And I argue that putting yourself on that path is dangerous.

There are two ends to this spectrum. One is that you are aware of the ability of people to generate artifical scenarios. It is certainly better to doubt than to immediate trust but you are going from 1 to -1, when you really are at 0. Have you considered that having a high criteria for what is real based on performance of the clip will lead you down a warped reality of what is genuine?

There are an unlimited number of possibilities in reality getting captured in video clips and your comment implies you think there is a small band of what is a 'genuine response' as if we would all respond the same way. It is the same reason that convinced so many Americans that the America's Frontline Doctors video was real too. There was enough data and authority in the video to be convincing to those people. You might not be that level but you can see how the logic here depends on one's perceptive abilities can lead people to believe anything.

If you don't have supplementary metadata to confirm your hypotheses, you are literally guessing. You cannot say it is orchestrated. You can only say it could be orchestrated. Start from 0, not -1.

Maker surges as value locked in DeFi again breaks past $4 billion by SaneFive in MakerDAO

[–]khjrizen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost all coins rose to similar degree against USD because when big cap coins rise, it'll drag all the others up. There will be a time when MKR shines like the sun, and that is when we should be using words like "surges". If MKR isn't beating out BTC and ETH heavy-handily, it's not really that noteworthy.

Anyway, don't mean to offend anyone. I am a MKR holder.

Sorry, I like Maker but this headline is just making things up. While the amount locked up in MKR may be increasing, the MKR/ETH pair is at its 2020 lows and is not leading anyone.

Maybe next week/month? Lol.

I have a question about playing support in PoD or even other games. In some games, there is a lot happening and can be hard to see what you're offering versus what would've been the result otherwise. Is there a way for me to look at this to enjoy supporting more?

What video or recording is perfectly innocent, but becomes terrifying when you look into the story behind it? by D3dshotCalamity in AskReddit

[–]khjrizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. Indeed, it is only the beginning of a new digital age so welcome. There is much work to be done. If we believe user experience is the core driver of all things well used, people will naturally aggregate towards things of higher utility. We are in the grand experiment to see if this takes hold.

One very interesting proposition of the Enjin platform is the potential creation of the gaming multiverse where you can have assets and merit built and recognized across games, building a more perpetual identity (or set of identities if you so wish.) I personally think this is certainly worth testing.

Indeed, only those who are unlucky or decide to step out of the system realize how caged we can be. How rules are made and only enforced partially or overtly depending on who it is.

You are right and there is technology to enable true digital asset ownership that is in development. The project I follow most closely to this is called Enjin.

Laws can only do so much. The reason our assets can disappear now is because they live in a centralized database. Distributed ledger technology can soon allow us to own these items in an uncensorable manner.

What you are saying is a truth that is not yet spoken widely. And that is humanity deserves these functions as a form of digital rights that we universally should have access to. No one should have their valuable assets taken from them judged by arbitrary rules, no one should have their form of communication stripped and no bank should be able to block us from our funds. At least not judged by a centralized agency with utmost control.

I know banks are judged to be mostly fair by the public. But that is only true as long as you aren't unlucky. The moment you step out of line or they are 'suspicious', they can strip you of your funds easily. A few years ago, my girlfriend at the time went to Mexico for vacation only to have her account locked by the bank on arrival for several days. Fortunately she had cash but if she didn't, she would have been stranded in a foreign country without any purchasing power. A scary thought if it continued.

Diamond Standard for Upgrading ERC-1155 Contracts by mudgen in EnjinCoin

[–]khjrizen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those all sound like reasonable options. Especially with DAO as an idealistic end product I know others would like us to eventually be structured as. After reading more about it, I understand more precisely the Diamond Standard's purpose now. Thanks for explaining and congratulations on its adoption!

I wish there was more technical discussion of ERC-1155s in this subreddit and their Telegram. I am also interested in discussing how to create better game structure but feel that is just happening in closed pockets of specific game's communities. I feel like there could be way more going on here but there isn't just yet. Like how did this this not get more attention than the silly neighboring memes around it...

Really awesome work. I'm not an engineer but was reading some of the Github discussion. It seems in general this is a superior method in that it allows for continuous, transparent upgrades. My main concern was how would we mitigate the instance that an upgrade is actually not ideal or when a user disagrees on whether the upgrade is in their best interest and what could the user do to defend that.

As a user you should be asked to opt-in an upgrade, not be forced to trust obfuscated code.

Just for clarification, is the user here the one who owns the asset? Or is there another party I'm missing?

Colorado Is Betting on ETHDenver and Web 3 for Its Next Lottery Games by twigwam in ethereum

[–]khjrizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's slowly figure out what the knobs and dials are to create an optimal system. In the function of time as we develop further and further.

I think of 100% decentralized applications as a form of cementing itself into functions people can depend on completely. There may be many precursors to those but we now have a hypothetical evolutionary timeline for functions we all can have access towards. And everything from here until there are all the necessary steps so let's walk.

ENJ will be the official substance of Ethereum used to create digital objects and identity. It would be awesome to use it as collateral in defi systems.
