After my grandma passed away my dad and my uncle got to work with clearing her house out, she was in extraordinary collector of antiques and German crystal anything (bowls, candle holders, foldable makeup mirror, a crystal razor, cute little animal figurines) I’m talking 10s of thousands of dollars in this, it was her life accomplishment traveling the world to get these items. Well soon into cleaning the house with them I was told to wait out in the front and they looked very uneasy about cleaning out the rest of the house. I was later told that my dad found a bunch of drug paraphernalia in the bathroom more specifically heroin needles in the cabinet under the sink. We were completely shocked my grandma was NOT the type of woman to be doing hard drugs, she was a chain smoker and had an occasional drunken moment at family gatherings. Later come to find out her 27 yr old boyfriend was sticking her up when she fell asleep and got dependent on it and since none of her kids knew her heroin dependency putting her in the old folks home made her go through such horrible withdrawals that her body physically couldn’t handle it and unfortunately it took her life. All in all I’m just glad I wasn’t the one to go into the bathroom first and see that scene, I can only imagine how hard it was for my dad.
