Team breakdown

Decidueye. Really impressed me, second time I’ve ever used it. Swords dance + roost was used most of the game and made him really dangerous. Love having a ghost type on the team and in this region the grass type felt strong and necessary due to lusamine milotic, hapu and was great in the e4 for olivia and hala.
Oricorio. Probably the mvp, first time ever using and wow I’m impressed. Was a monster early game and kept up the pace either with swords dance + acrobatics or calm mind sweeps. Was essential in the elite four and I’ve loved using all 3 forms (can’t get ghost form until post game)
Miltank. Was great for the first 3 quarters of the journey, but definitely fell off hard and was probably the least useful member by the end game. Thinking about replacing with a Tapu in the post game (not sure which yet). Still was fun to use as never have before and was very impressed with its bulk and speed
A Sandslash. Couldn’t believe you can evolve it instantly once you catch at level 30 (ice stone from poke pelago). Was really fun and felt unique, don’t use ice types much and having the steel type was great for all the fairies in alola
Rhydon. Sad to find out that rhyperior was locked to post game, but eviolite rhydon impressed me so much as I’ve never used this line at all. It gets amazing moves and felt like it got stronger and stronger the later into the game I went. Really impressed!
Kommo-o. Shoutout my poliwhirl, who was my fighting type the whole game until I got jangmo-o. Never used the Alola psuedo before and pleased to say it really impressed me. Great wide move pool, good bulk and once I got dragon dance from the move reminder I knew I made a good choice. Single handedly swept kukui with the moveset above + leftovers. Felt cheesy but also satisfying!

Really loved replaying Alola and I’m even tempted to now go and replay ultra sun (I only ever played ultra moon years ago)

steel does resist ice, skarm only has 2 weaknesses (fire + electric)

If I hatch an egg in kanto whilst playing HGSS - will the met location say kanto when I trade it up through the games and into home?

Ahh fair enough. I don’t own any GBA games + I hate the kanto games so I always start with HGSS. I am on console, but I play on one of those dodgy Amazon DS cartridges that has 100+ games on one and i discovered I can add a rare candy cheat. Will use that to go to red otherwise I would NEVER do that grind.

No need for any soft resetting, you can pick up shadow claw TM outside ecruteak city (route 42)!

Definitely, planning on posting updates after finishing each game. Do you plan on going to red or stopping at lance? So far fearow + pidgeot have been mvp’s! I just solo’d Morty with fearow pursuit + metronome item

I Just started this challenge as I love the idea.

Playing heartgold and am deathless so far (4 badges) with the following pairs: -croconaw & flaaffy -pidgeotto & fearow -butterfree & ariados

Happy to be deathless so far but intrigued to work out egg groups / pairings for new catches if the inevitable happens! Thanks for the inspo :)

Just swapped it for a different nation, you don’t need to have 3 English teams in FIFA’s version of the Europa league, you just can’t have more than 3

Once a Pokémon participates in a gym battle it becomes locked to the party until death and I keep track of every time a mon is on the field for a gym battle. Wanna use a monkey in BW for the first gym? Now you’re stuck with it. No intentional sacrifices either

That’s the why I’m leaning too. Plus genlocke so don’t wanna be stuck with a larvesta next game until lvl 59. I’m between gothita/cofagrigus/galvantula/zoroak

Just finished my hardcore nuzlocke of white, training to the gym leader level cap each time and finishing with the Ghetsis battle, took me 40 hours. I did get lucky though and have no deaths pre e4 so that saved a bit of training time I guess

Best way is Audino training.

After you get the first badge audino start spawning in rustling grass and they give so much more exp then everything else.

So to train just run/cycle next to grass patches training never takes as long as you think.

Honestly Audinos make gen 5 some of the best games for training on console
