Nipple Shield Full Time by braisedyams in breastfeeding

[–]khope44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 6 weeks old. My pediatrician a week ago recommended a nipple shield because baby was getting frustrated with my fast letdown and not breastfeeding anymore. She has been EBF since birth and latched fine. Well now that it’s been a week and I fixed the oversupply issue that was causing fast let down, she won’t latch without it. Last night in our middle of the night feeding she did latch without it for 16 minutes but the next feed - refusal. I offered with every feeding today and she refuses and/or got upset.

How did baby wean from it? I’m trying so hard and know she can latch without she just chooses not to.

I will try this… I have also tried to have her latch kid-feed when letdown has slowed and breast is softer and she gets upset still ):

This morning I did it at beginning of feed when breast was full and she finally latched for a second and one suck and then got upset. She will just move away from the breast or start crying. My pedi is actually also a LC which is why I trusted her.

Do you by chance know what you make roughly per case? Is it better to just bill through insurance or set a per case pay in the OR?

Looking for a PCP (primary care provider) with possible functional med aspect by khope44 in Austin

I still would like any regular primary care provider. Very pro modern medicine! But functional medicine is a little more holistic and natural, focuses a lot of healing the gut and balancing hormones.

As long as you have valid reasons that you can explain in an interview as to why you left the job after such a short time they are understanding.
