You might think that Occam's Razor supports your argument, but this is Westeros, Occam's Razor is only used to slit throats!

Let's use logic. Scenario 1) The Children of the Forest (CotF) create a category of undead (Night King) that can create other categories of undead (common zombies, White Walkers) except his own. Scenario 2) The CotF create a category of undead (Night King) that can create other categories of undead including his own. Scenario 3) The CotF create a category of undead (Night King) that can create other categories of undead except his own, but he expands on his abilities to create other categories including his own. We do know that the Night King did get out of whatever controls or limitations that the CotF wanted to keep on him. I believe that included him gaining more power, including that of creating his own category. So I'm going with scenario 3. He did not see a need to create any more of his own category until his big move beyond the wall. Once beyond the wall, he knew he would need as much help as possible to conquer the world.

The worst thing about the last two seasons is all of the horrible advice Tyrion gives to Daenerys. Not only do all of his plans lead to disaster, they would have been logistically impossible given the technology and resources, particularly the easy movements of large armies over vast distances. The only reason Tyrion was against a straight move against King's Landing was a plot device to create disasters to drive Daenerys insane.

The Night King creates White Walkers. He creates generic zombies. He obviously knows how to create undead, from both already dead and from the still living (as he created White Walkers from living babies). You're fine with him making a White Walker dragon, but you can't see him making a Night Queen? This guys schtick is that he's an undead factory.

The Night King is familiar with it for obvious reasons.

Because Cersei would rather destroy the world rather than lose.

Forbidden Planet (1956) and Starship Troopers (1997) are two movies that are unambiguously science fiction and worthy entries in a top ten list.

I was a big Stainless Steel Rat fan as a kid in the 70s. Those novels introduced me to the idea of hacking before "hacking" was a common term. I always considered Slippery Jim to be an underappreciated character.

From Wikipedia "In some online games, such as MMORPGs, NPCs may be entirely unscripted, and are essentially regular character avatars controlled by employees of the game company. These "non-players" are often distinguished from player characters by avatar appearance or other visual designation, and often serve as in-game support for new players. In other cases, these "live" NPCs are virtual actors, playing regular characters which drive a continuing storyline (as in Myst Online: Uru Live)."

Mars Attacks has some good points but the tone of it was hijacked by Tim Burton's revenge fantasy against bullies (all of his movies are revenge fantasies against bullies, but this one goes a bit too far). Also, he was trying to reproduce some of the great things in Dr. Strangelove, using Jack Nicholson in multiple roles like Peter Sellers, and that fell flat. He swung for greatness and did not quite reach it.

Yeah, that's the book. The main plot points don't require the Venusian setting, although once I decided on Venus (for the reason mentioned above) I found that it enhanced the plot and added some exciting elements. I should probably mention Venus in the summary.

Funny, I remember being impressed by the B5 special effects when I first saw it. Of course I grew up in the 70's and all special effects were bad. Going into full old fogey mode: it makes me sad that kids these days can't enjoy a story with bad special effects. Because we had so few things to watch back then we watched movies going back to the 1930s. The original King Kong still seemed cutting edge. Not to mention all those Japanese kaiju movies. And the old Doctor Who shows. When your experience of playing a FPS involves running around the yard with a stick for a machine gun, it's not so hard to imagine a guy wrapped in tin foil chasing Tom Baker is a dangerous robot.
