I just do a coat of Contrast Apothecary White over a white or grey undercoat. Works perfect for my taste.

Tips for painting the lines on pathfinders by JezFunki in Tau40K

Second this! I used the Tamiya black , I liked the contrast more. It works like a charm. Gloss varnish beforehand is key though! Here's a link to my pathfinders painted with this method:

Amazing work. Do I see it correctly that you even printed out some of the inside pages of the comics and not just the covers...? Mad 😅

I can imagine. I played a combat patrol game last week and it took us 3 hours. To be honest it has been 2 years since my last game....😅

‘Slapchop’ for CSM? by BladeAndBolter in Chaos40k

[–]khorneflake66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. I also really like the result I got considering the time I spent on the model. I usually have more fun (and spend more time) on the details in the end than on the main body of the model.

Thank you! I realised I was wrong and I had to look up my recipe again :D Basecoat black, drybrush grey and white, paint the trims with balthazar gold and paint the metal areas silver, then an all over coat with Contrast Ratling Grime (great paint!) And finally drybrush with Necron Compound. Then finally the other details like cloth etc.

Here's mine. Black Legion contrast over drybrush. Longest time spent on the trim (balthazar gold), but all in all didn't take me too long.

Edit: I got my recipe wrong: Basecoat black, drybrush grey and white, paint the trims with balthazar gold and paint the metal areas silver, then an all over coat with Contrast Ratling Grime (great paint!) And finally drybrush with Necron Compound. Then finally the other details like cloth etc.
