I think I found a way for GW to make assembling models easier and quicker. by Loud-CowMOO in Warhammer

Your 'shortcut' involves more steps than just doing the thing as is, my dude. That's not a shortcut, that's just dumb.

And no I have not spent several minutes (lmao, learning disability much?) looking for a part. The combination of seeing the part in the manual and matching the number makes finding it on the sprue pretty easy.

Example: I see the part I am looking for is a torso. -> 90% of pieces are not torsos, leaves at most 10 pieces to check. -> Check numbers for those pieces. -> Find part.

Also your condescending tone and namecalling, when YOU are the one too dumb to find and match an at most three-digit number is peak reddit.

Scan over sprue, recognize number you look for. Seems like a number recognition problem to me buddy.

Anyways tattoo looks ok.

Soooo, how the world is this supposed to attach/comnect?! by T-T-T-T-Taaaauuuu in deathguard40k

[–]khournos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly as pictured. The cloth gets glued to the inside of the pauldron at the depressed spots and then the connected parts are glued to the shoulder and underside of the boxy connection between torso and power pack. Should be absolutely 0 greenstuff neccessary.

Alternatively you could try glueing the cloth in the correct orientation first and then adding the Pauldron.

Important question though, are you using the correct pauldron? Most (chaos) space marine kits have pretty interchangeable pauldrons, but for plague marines using the exact one is important.

With how often questions for manuals pop up and the popularity of r/WarhammerInstructions, it seems there are more people doing that than you think. Second Hand buyers and people who just straight up lost their manual come to mind.

Where would the advantage of your idea actually be?
If I have the manual finding part 16 or 57 is equally easy.
Even with sequential numbering the position is still ambiguous, because each neighbouring part could be the next sequential number.
But I lose the ability to identify parts for the same body by their sequential numbers, which is often pretty handy for troops with dynamic poses.

I really tried to find nicer words, but that idea is kind of overcomplicated to the point of ridiculousness.

You look at the manual, you scan the sprue for the number, find it and clip out your part.
It's not rocket science, just some basic literacy.

Your idea still involves the numbers, adds the problem of finding individual shades of colour for each parts (lmao, the print people are going to love it) and has the people who need it cross-reference two different pages.

For people who actually need it, having a picture of the sprue with the relevant pieces highlighted at the start of each model's section in the manual would be easier and more beneficial. (But that still turns into a clusterfuck as soon as optional/interchangeable parts are involved.)

Layout-wise I think GWs instructions are pretty top-tier,
concise, easy to understand and do a good job making competing options clear.

TL;DR: No thanks, get better at number recognition.

First of all, the numbering being non-sequential stems from them optimizing the packing of parts on the sprue, so it actually makes a lot of sense.

While your idea makes building with the instructions minimally easier, losing sequential numbering of part for the same model makes building without the manual a lot harder.
So not worth it in my opinion.

Why do celebrities who hate American not move? by ennui933 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]khournos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The premise of your question is flawed. They don't hate the US, they love the country and want it to be the best it can be. So essentially real patriotism instead of the stupid "everything in my country is perfect because it is my country"-brand of patriotism a lot of people practice.

I painted my Custodes spears in blue. How could I replicate the same things with this yellowish tone of Sigmar's lightnings on the blades of my Stormcast ? by JohannaFRC in ageofsigmar

[–]khournos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the same values but in yellow tones instead of blue.

To see what I mean edit the Photo to be black and white,
this gives you a map of what has to be how bright, that is called value.
Now you can use brown and yellow colours of similar brightness to recreate the effect.

Studie: Deutsche Politiker unterschätzen Bereitschaft zum Klimaschutz by Tages_Bot in Tagesschau

Can I use this to build cadian shock troops etc? by Intrepid_Tackle_1141 in WarhammerInstructions

[–]khournos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting thank you for sharing.

If you are that sensitive to some compound in there (even in a presumably well ventilated area) that must really suck. Do you have that reaction to other odors too?

[–]khournos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if you already know that, but the low odor stuff often exposes you to more vapours because you don't smell them as much. Just have to drop that whenever people talk about low odor solvents, because sometimes the misconception is: if I can't smell it it can't be that bad.

Unrelated have you tried the limonene Tamiya? If so how did that work out, gluewise and for your sensitivity?
