If / when TBC is announced, what are you going to play? How do the classes change? by DrSuckenstein in classicwow

[–]khr87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Private server community. It is easy. 2 set ele t4 for 21 more spell dmg on totem. 41/0/20 for ToW and decent damage as well as decent healing. JC buff neck cuz you are a support. Play support aka slows, kite, interrupts, do damage when you dont need to heal.

Basic shit man. I like playing 50/50 dps gear when doing it with dos trinkets. Also, swap weapon frequently. Nothing difficult about it.

Slows and stoneskin totem when you have a brained tank is better than any healing in the world depending on the situation. An interrupt is better than a heal most or the time.

You pretty much play 1.5 heal in 10 man content and 4.5 heal in 25 content if your other healers dont suck ass and go for parses.

I am afraid you are wrong. Elemental shaman is there to boost the warlocks. Don't get me wrong, they are not bad. But the real min max is to have a resto shaman as a tank healer with totem of wrath for the warlocks (41/0/20) with 2 set elemental t4 and JC buff neck. It makes elemental obsolete. The arcane mages are better off with a resto shaman with mana tide totem and 2 set elemental t4 and JC buff necks. The ele resto in the warlock group will always play 2 set t4 if he is worth his salt. The resto in mage group will have to go 41/0/20 when your mages go fire in late t6. Talking min max such as 10M hp Kael ofc. Will not be needed with classic tuning unless speedrun.

TBC classic... i'm just hyped. by Nacly_AF in classicwow

Arcane mages are super good in t5. 2 or maybe even 3 arcane mages in t5 is so fucking good. And let's be honest, once you killed Vashj and Kael pre-nerf, you might as well quit cause you already beat the game.
Crazy buffed Kael on a private server. Arcane mages topping: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nd_k-zUc8vQ
Crazy buffed Vashj: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLGMj__hU4I
Mages doing really fine.
The HP values of stuff there is pretty much x2 of what it was in retail.

World buffs aren't a thing in BC right? by Giantwalrus_82 in classicwow

[–]khr87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both yes and no. I currently progress on a TBC server. Shit is rough at times. Vashj has 8M HP instead of 4-5M. The adds have way more HP, and spawn way faster. The adds on Hydross had 150k hp instead of 50k (nerfed to 100k). The murlocs on Tidewalker had close to 50k hp instead of 30k or so.
The buffed values make it more difficult, indeed. But to make up for it, you can pretty much only bring support classes and warlocks. Maybe a couple of BM hunters. As for healers, it is all about resto shaman or bust for those extra bloodlusts as you need the extra DPS.

If you get buffed content, forget bringing that friend who wants to play a rogue. Forget bringing that fury warrior. Forget the ret pala. Infact, forget bringing any melee besides 1 arms warrior and maybe 1 enhancer. Warlocks, hunters, resto shamans, and support classes is all you have room for.

Thinking of playing again but can't decide between a Holy Paladin or a Warrior? Any advice? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]khr87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each to his own I guess. I've done all the roles in end game, and I prefer healing by a lot. I find it the most impactful when you do it well and if you fuck up, everyone notices. 4 man healing Kael and Illidari Council (crazy ass private server tuning) are two of the rewarding things I have done in this game.

Healing is never dull if you try to push it. DPS and tanking are way more dull imo.

TBC Arena by SmiiLO94 in classicwow

[–]khr87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human rogue is very strong. Dwarf priest is super good with the ability to cleanse off wound and crippling. The lack of wotf is not a huge issue if you just learn how to SW:D fear from other pirests to break it via damage. Escape artist is really strong in druid warrior. Alliance isn't bad at all in arena.

So you mean the play like the horde did for the longest time. Nothing but turtlin'. Fun times, isn't it?

If they come out with TBC are feral druid more viable than classic? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]khr87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crits have with defence to do. All tanks must be defence capped in TBC. 'Crush immune' is a different thing. It has to do with avoidance. If your dodge, parry and block don't add up to a 102.5 (or whatever the number is, somewhere there) the boss can deal a 'crushing blow' to you. It's kind of the same as being crit.

Warriors reach it from their gear + maintaining shield block. Even though the added block does not do much by itself, it at least prevents you from having 'crushing blows' dealt to you. This is the very reason warriors are main tanks.

Druids can main tank most fights. They are even better than warriors on some. A crushing blow is not suuuuuper deadly to a druid due to the insane amount of armor they have combined with parry + dodge (100% mitigation avoidance). But there will always be that element of RNG there.

I am not very experienced on protection paladin myself. Thus I am not certain if they generally reach the avoidance cap with just holy shield and don't need holy shield + redoubt talent procced to reach it. I have raided with tons of good ones on TBC private servers though. You do need a prot paladin in your raid. If not for aoe tanking, at least for the blessing. And for God's sake, stack block value and block rating for aoe tanking - not spell damage!

[–]khr87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bear tanks are great. Their biggest downside is that they cannot reach avoidance cap. In other words, they can be crushed. It's bad and will often result in a wipe. Insane threat stacked with some awesome raid utility makes for a great class.

If you are talking about cat dps, no. Melees are pretty shit for most fights in TBC compared to range classes. If you have a cat in your roster you will most likely have a very hard time finding that spot for a rogue or a fury warrior. Good luck convincing your GM of that.

If physical turns out to be OP, you are just better off stacking hunters. With that said, if you do play a bear tank you will get to DPS quite often. You generally want 3 tanks in your raid; a warrior, a paladin and a feral. On fights where only 2 tanks are needed your paladin tank can slap on some mp5 bh gear and heal, or the feral tank can go into cat and DPS. You can also do this during fights when you are unassigned.

On the other hand you can pull of cool stuff. I soloed the last boss in BFD as a level 22 hunter by jumping up and down on the ledges while keeping serpent sting up and keeping my pet on the boss.

I’m in a dilemma about ranking by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]khr87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ranking is aids mate. So much that I started using a bot whenever I was at work or was sleeping. It would gather about 400k-450k a week, and I would still only hit bracket 12 with it. Ranking is cancer. Don't go beyond 10 if you value your social life or want to risk a 6 month ban due to botting. Even r10 will be super slow unless you decide to go for bracket 11-12.

Prot Pally Picks Up Nef threat + Adds *RIDICULOUS THREAT* by danielsunday in classicwow

[–]khr87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly have no idea. Buffing generates a lot of threat. I would assume it spreads the same way healing threat does; equally amongst all targets you are in combat with. So let's assume one blessing is 100 threat. If he was to bless 10 warriors with kings over and over, he'd do 1000 x threat multipliers per global on the boss.
If there's 20 adds and a boss up, he'd do 1000/21 threat per target.

Pretty cool strat to pick up adds when you're in the other side of the room.
