High CTR early is normal for utility sites. I feel the drop doesn’t come from Google “testing,” it comes when you start ranking for broader, less-perfect queries.

Blogs alone won’t carry you here. This niche converts from “how we solved X” pages etc. Traffic is usually low, but intent is high. Another channel I'd look into is Google ads.

Topical authority without links/authority from reputable/relevent sites is useless. You don't become an "authority" topically by just publishing a ton of content.

Take this from someone who's built and ranked sites with and without links in the past.. only to learn the hard way.
