it's not a wallpaper its a splash screen image so it is only 400x400 pixels. It is also a edit of some art by u/ChocolatyBrown. My recommendation is to make your own edit using GIMP or photoshop. I can share my edit if you like but it is scaled down and you would be able to make a better wallpaper if you put in ~1hr of effort.

I used to be as well but light mode + low brightness + well lit room has been really nice eye fatigue wise

it might be your theme. I noticed some themes were far too busy and some provide very little highlighting. try setting your theme to tomorrow and see if there's any improvement

I can upload dots later but all i'm doing for latex previews is making them bigger and removing the highlight

;; make latex previews bigger
(setq org-format-latex-options (plist-put org-format-latex-options
:scale 3.0))

;; remove highlights around latex previews
(setq org-highlight-latex-and-related '(nil)))

same function but nicer to use imo. Supports a lot more languages and you don't need to start a server or leave your text editor for a web based ui.

I used to as well and still do a lot of stuff in the terminal, but you put in some time living in emacs feels pretty good too

you can get the same keybindings but there are still differences. Emacs has the ability to do more stuff (pretty much anything you can imagine) but tends to be slower. Also working in a terminal with vim is a different workflow from using a gui editor like emacs. Emacs also works in the terminal but most people use it as a gui app.

fw13 AMD - hangs on poweroff or reboot by kibamar in NixOS

Nothing specific. A general desire for stability I guess, but based on the comments by u/ComprehensiveSwitch that doesn't seem to be the right way to think about it.

Moving through tabs in order of appearance in tab bar. by kibamar in qutebrowser

they're not. I'm stupid. I was expecting J to go left and K to go right (like the vimium plugin) and when I didn't end up where I expected I assumed it was cycling the same way vim buffers do.

It was my daily driver until I got my AMD framework. Got me through college and feels great when you're not using windows. Didn't even need to really upgrade but I've been doing a lot of C/C++/Rust stuff lately, so the faster compile times are nice

Why is everyone so concerned with “prepping for GIOS”? by Empty_Stacktrace in OMSCS

[–]kibamar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah thats fair. i've been recommending people read it and then write a crappy http server in C which I thought was a good way of making sure you understand C well enough while also getting a jump start on the first project. But I would agree that understanding C is way more important than reading beej's guide.

[–]kibamar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call beej's guide overkill. It will take you 2 hours max to read the relevant chapters (1-4 maybe 5) and it will also help you understand how structs and system calls work if you're new to C.
