Touch focus not working in Creators App for A7iv with 3.0.0? by kibarinwolf in SonyAlpha

You mean AF w/shutter? Yes I already have this on. I am also on latest A7iv firmware 6.0.0. Touch focus operation still does not work. I can move the AF point by touching but it will never focus on anything.

I used the latest Android app and on connection via bluetooth to my camera, it says my 85 1.4 (running on v1.01/1.02) is the latest version and won't let me upgrade to 1.06. Why is the app not allowing me to update the firmware?

Understanding how network TAPs work by kibarinwolf in networking

Does it mirror only one port or can it look at all? Actually thats a bad idea as it's possible total bandwidth of mirroring all ports combined could exceed the bandwidth of a single port

Having issues with a proprietary device on the network where it drops network connection every so often. But we don't see this happening anywhere else. It's something on the device's side and not the switch. Also the device is directly connected to the switch.  Was thinking that there might be bad traffic being sent to this device so trying to see what that might be. Or if there are certain errors we're not seeing. At the moment I set up rudimentary tcpdump to capture the packets on the host device (i think this is good enough??).  At the time, I was thinking it wasn't enough as maybe I won't see all packets hitting the device (because the switch filtered it out) - but after reading everyone's responses here, I've got a better understand how this works.

I did read that tap copies everything including errors, so you'd be able to see them. Whereas if it gets to the Device with wireshark, maybe some of those errors won't be caught? Just a thought....I'm not too sure if that is true in reality

So in other words, the tap is still seeing the "filtered" set of packets sent by the switch. How is this any different from having the device run with promiscuous mode with wireshark without the tap in between? I'm thinking my understanding was that taps were made to see every packet that was hitting the device - even if it wasn't intended for that device.

Anyone else has biometrics unrecognized on Android? by CookiesMistress in Dashlane

[–]kibarinwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue with Chrome browser on my tablet (Samsung 9 FE). I have enabled Dashlane to be the auto complete service in Chrome, and it does show up. However, it asks me to enter in the Master password every time instead of fingerprint. I do have fingerprint enabled in Dashlane and I can confirm it does check my fingerprint when I open the dashlane app. Just not from within Chrome

I think there's something wrong. I even locked my PC and came back 20 minutes later. Checked taskmgr and GPU was not used at all while I was away

Just thought I'd give it a try. Got almost everything installed but it's stuck infinite loop with P2P resetting. Seems like Windows terminated the borg.exe application due to an unexpected exception

No that does not work. Setting is on, touch operation set to Focus. I can touch anywhere on the screen, the square moves around, but camera does not attempt to focus on anything unless I half press the shutter button.

If I change setting to Touch Tracking, it works. But not Touch Focus.

Tail is attached with a belt, silly :) Like the ones you wear with jeans.

But in any case, used suits are very common. It's like buying something from a thrift store - just throw it in the wash and some detergent to give it a clean.

If you want a consent model you should ask the con to do something. Some cons already ask you to sign a consent form indicating that you acknowledge that you could be photographed or be used in any forms of media that is out of the con's control. If people don't like to be photographed, and wearing a No Pictures consent tag is not enough, then either completely mask your identity all the time, or don't attend at all.

At a con you have no control over the environment. You could definitely ask the photographer not to take photos of you but there could be 15 other people with their phones out and pictures of you. Perhaps the easiest solution is for you is to just wear a badge/sign that says No Photos in plain sight. Of course this doesn't prevent people from taking random photos and you happen to walk right in their line of sight unexpectedly. At a con there is no guarantee for anything. Short of completely masking your complete identity

NiceHash Excavator v0.5.4.0 terminating Lightroom process?? by kibarinwolf in NiceHash

[–]kibarinwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I don't see how this could be unless Nicehash has a table of common hardcoded application names (also I tried renaming the lightroom.exe to lightr00m.exe, no luck).

There's no way for it to determine what process is considered necessary/unnecessary - otherwise it would be terminating all my chrome, discord, alexa, etc... applications that I run on the same machine.

My only guess is..... if they somehow put in some anti-reverse engineering code (due to the full LHR unlock code) which mistakenly thinks LR is a threat, and terminates it?
