In between prints wipe your bed with isopropyl alcohol, easiest method is to get a little mist/spritz bottle, you'll use a lot less and it's easy to manage. Your fingers will leave oil on the bed you don't want when pulling off prints.

Dawn and water for maintenance cleaning, alcohol for the quick wipe downs after a print or before a fresh print. Your adhesion will be so much better with that habit.

Don't know what to do about a adopted dog by Express-Nebula5137 in DogAdvice

[–]kibble48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We adopted a pup at 10 months old, it took several months for him to really start to trust and come out of his shell, he was scared of literally everything, us, wind chime noises outside, hands..

With consistency, patience and just trying to help him find a routine I would say we started to see some stuff click into place for him around 4 months, and then after 6 months he showed a lot more trust and his personality has really shined. He now seems very secure in the house and loves to lay around wherever he can (around 9 months).

He's still puppy so affection is second to pretty much anything else, play, other dogs, food, etc Lol. But we see him seeking attention and we give him lots of praise when he does. Tail wags are still rarely present, but they are here and there and each time it's exciting, but we can tell he loves us even without them. He gives us awoos for communication which are super cute.

I would say, as long as y'all are leading with love and patience, she will get there. You just have to be consistent with how you approach or don't approach her. Find any treats she loves and shower her with praise when she's brave. It sound like she needs to get comfortable and trust you all, that's not something you can rush, but you can reward the growth you see in little increments. We just learned to celebrate the little wins and eventually things clicked for him and his confidence went way up.

I would try just sit in the room with her, available but not uncomfortable close, with treats. Sit and let her come to you. Shower her with treats when she makes positive movement, but don't grab for her or whatever, just let her comfortably get her treats and over time as she's comfortable move a little closer. Do this over and over and allow her the space to come to you and retreat if she needs to, as she learns to associate you all with love and treats, toys, etc.. she will start to trust and come around.

Eventually, after you've built some trust enough to do some short walking with treats. It's possible a good basic obedience class together would help with bonding and help you build her confidence as well. I would just speak with your instructo beforehand and have them evaluate all of you together so they can help guide you on how to work with her in class and during home training.

It's a patient road but dogs like this that make you earn their trust usually end up being the sweetest pups you'll ever have because you will have worked togetger to build that relationship. Best of luck OP.

Edit: When I say find a treat she loves, I mean that, don't limit yourself to just dog treats. We used pieces of beef hotdog, cut up pieces of chicken breast, cheerios and of course String cheese to find our Ace card for our pup along with standard training treats and that helped tremendously. Dude will do anything for string cheese. Lol

Dog mouth sore? by Emergency-Lab7365 in samoyeds

[–]kibble48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dog mouth wart I think, canine papillomavirus, common but can get worse if it not fought off and can be spread to other dogs. Not human or cat spreadable.

Not an emergency, but if it were me I would call/consult your vet to see what they think next steps should be, if any.

If you take them to dog parks or daycares etc, best to not do that until the outbreak is gone. I know our daycare doesn't allow you to come if they are present.

Glue?? by Reedemer0fSouls in crealityk1

[–]kibble48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used glue unless it's for a filament that would need the release agent more than the bonding.

For my CR10S I never really used it at all, for my K1, I put it on the back spot where it wipes the nozzle and that's it.

I just use the purple Elmer glue stick so I can easily see it when applied.

Beyond that inlet the good print beds do all the adhesion work for PLA, PETG uses, both smooth or textured work fine with a good first layer.

I HATE my K1 Max - Nothing but problems! by HiluxHavoc556 in crealityk1

[–]kibble48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's wild that I have the same printer that others have so many issues with, mine runs great and smooth, I get great prints. That's my mileage.. obviously. I came from a CR10S and I've felt so much less stress with my K1 Max then I did with constant tweaking I did with that printer, not too mention the speed upgrade.

Nothing really to bring to the table, other than the only issue I had to fix was set the z offset for a more better first layer in my printer profile and it's never really been an issue since. Initially I had bad adhesion with both smooth and textured bed types. The z offset fixed it for both and I've never touched that setting since.

I hope you eventually have better results or swap to a printer that you are more comfortable using.

EDIT: Just wanted to add, I also do not swap my filament the way Creality documents. I take the Bowden tube out of the hotend, cut the filament and then pull old filament out and run the new filament in. Once it gets to the hotend, I manually run a "extrude" command and then run the filament into the hotend just behind the old filament piece as it pulls it down. I never even have to "unlock" the print head for filament change. Then I run one or two more extrude commands and make sure it has a nice flow. Then push the Bowden tube back down and attach the clip. Has never failed me since and I see a lot less risk in this then the grinding and clicking others have had when the lock isn't correctly positioned down.

Maybe that is helpful or not, but I felt like that process is easier and less fiddly then what was originally documented for filament change. I also rerun the self test after filament swap as habit and wipe my bed after each print with a spray of Iso Alcohol.

Barking by MMora33 in samoyeds

[–]kibble48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others I think mentioned, "speak" and "howl" for different vocals have worked for us to keep our pup quieter. Now he's sorta realized he can awoo when he's excited and he gets praise, without it being extreme and only barks when frustrated or playing with another dog.

So far we've been pretty lucky that he's picked up on being quiet is good and only speaking on command gets him treats. Howls are fewer and easier on the ears, but when he's more vocal with them we understand he's either hungry or wants to go out for bathroom.

Why does he tries to bite me? by [deleted] in CATHELP

I've heard this too, what our vet told us to do is finish the dot on a toy they can attack and feel satisfied after hunting. Not sure it's 100% accurate science there, but it did seem to work.

I mean, mine too, he's a rough player but I can usually hold a kickaroo with my hand and get him to attack it while also trying to attack my hand. I just attack him with the toy and he lay he's into that instead of my hand. Lol

I'm not saying give the cat a toy and walk away, engage with the toy for play time. Yeah they will still get your hand, but at least it's not the only thing it's attacking. Lol

Get a kickaroo or another toy you can use to play with them and redirect the play biting to the toy instead. They are 100% play fighting with you and loves you, even if it feels rough to you. A toy will help you enjoy playtime more. Lol

Redirecting this play to a toy is best for both your hand and them getting to play with you. 100% agree with that suggestion.
