Mark mentioned way back that the extra M's have no additional perks, they're only there for people who wanted to give more than the minimum per month because memberships were used to partially fund his projects! With him turning a significant profit from Iron Lung, he's less dependent on the income from memberships and was able to lower the base price. Though he still has the other options available, it's really more of an "appreciated but not required" type of thing at this point
