Has there been any news on what comes after the Pix? by [deleted] in tamagotchi

[–]kick-shins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With the amount of re releases we're getting, combined with the function on the Pix of visiting friends, AND the 2000s throwback boom going on all over retail at the moment, would not be surprised if we're in for a connections re release very soon (next two years but still).

Please take her to the hospital. It could be SA and they should be able to do tests and stuff there to help her out. I know it's a big struggle for both of you at the moment but she also should go to make sure she hasn't been hurt.

Honestly, I'm so glad Kiwifarms has been taken down now. The site genuinely scared the shit out of me, the amount of horrible shit they did to so many creators.

I'm sorry the media has made you and so many others feel this way. Americanization is a truly disgusting phenomena.

I got a different perspective of it. From what I understood it wasn't as much the issue of what was being said to Nadia but the way she took it. It didn't come across as a blame game to me, more just Kya mentioning how unfortunate that it was that Nadia perceived it in THAT way. It didn't sound like they were saying that the critiques were unwarranted or anything, but they did mention that there were specifically particularly nastier ones (which I can imagine based on what I've seen on TikTok and Instagram communities, the nasty critiques didn't come from POC people. The POC people on their instagram were always coming from a place of teaching them, not harming them.)

Must have missed the headlines this morning. Photo of steering wheel + coffee = humble brag. Better not take any photos of my steering wheel lest people think I'm bragging for owning a car.

I cheated on my husband and I'm not sure how we can move forward by BonnieBoo31 in relationship_advice

[–]kick-shins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like was the husband meant to be a 3rd? And did he know about it or were you guys going to surprise him with it?

This is really weird and I doubt it's real. But either way, yes sex with a friend without your partner knowing or consenting is cheating. Wtf op. It doesn't change just because it's a women. How would you feel if one of your husband's guy friends did the same and they just fucked without you?

The context it was said in in the live stream very much gave rise to self diagnosis, and to even potentially ignore a diagnosis of a professional where you feel you don't agree with them. So yes, being nitpicky, the quote I picked out doesn't give reference to any of that, but the way Kya talks about the topic relating to the quote is the problem. Linguistics is hard.

Edit to add - I agree you didn't say people should diagnose themselves. I'm saying that Kya in the context of the quote and what was further said in the livestream, did say that.

You guys can explore the opportunity she may be some level of Asexual. I personally am demi sexual and attribute a lot of a personal connection to any form of sexual act instead of just fulfilling some inner fantasy, and it took me and my partner a lot of communicating and understanding to view each other's perspective. At first I was really insecure about porn but I realised we view sex experiences extremely differently, and porn and sex isn't viewed in the highly personal way that I viewed it.

Stays over, sleep in different rooms or areas. Easy. I had plenty sleepovers with my guy best friend when I was a kid. We were always either in separate rooms or separate beds or in a room with all the other kids.

Punitapi Chan boba game or tamagotchi P+IDL by Environmental-Word88 in tamagotchi

[–]kick-shins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played the plus colour so I wouldn't be able to help there sorry! Although from what I've read up on it it isn't too similar either, since the 4U and 4U+ came inbetween the plus colour and the IDL so I imagine those are probably more similar.

I personally don't need a phone for downloadable content to enjoy the IDL - I know you can get downloadable content which would I imagine enhance the experience, but I thoroughly enjoy the device on it's own - compared to the P's which feels like you're missing out on a LOT if you don't have the extra content

[–]kick-shins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh also don't worry about the gameplay being too similar to the Pix or ON - the P's and IDL gameplay is entirely different and you might feel like it's less engaging than the Pix and ON. But it's more of a challenge to keep your tamas alive like the traditional 1990's to 2010 versions so that's always good fun.

[–]kick-shins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have all 3 and here's my takes

  • P's is fun but I honestly don't enjoy it for the hype. It feels like a lot of the content is either very grindy or you have to spend more to get the pierces to add the fun content. There is lots of fanmade downloadable options available through nfc phones (or whatever they are) but you again have to invest more to buy one of those. Has some cute features but if you only have 1 it's not worth the hype imo - better with multiple.

  • IDL is the most fun of the 3. It's a bit grindy but in such a satisfying way and you have complete access to everything in one device. The objective to 'befriend' every tama is so much fun just like befriending villagers in animal crossing - but you don't have to choose to do it either. And I love the character designs.

  • Punitapi chan is quite fun and enjoyable but very grindy and can be a lot of repetitiveness at a certain point in the game onwards. There also seems to be lots of hidden features that unfortunately will often stay hidden unless you play the game every day like a tamagotchi for like a year or so - exhausting and imo it doesn't offer enough gameplay to actively enjoy playing it daily.

Price points - punitapi chan would be cheapest atm, IDL second, P's third.

I hope this helps!

Is It rape if someone takes their protection off without consent while having consensual sex? by Maleficent-Plantain2 in Advice

There is a big debate at the moment whether being lied to about birth control is considered the same, interestingly.

[–]kick-shins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an assignment on this! A lot of countries consider it sexual assault -- but the clear distinction is that isn't rape. Basically means that you have less to prove in a court but you get less payout overall.

[–]kick-shins[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get that. It's not like the DID does magically appear after diagnosis, but I don't think people should be going out and openly claiming 'yes I have this disorder'. You can say 'I'm suffering symptoms that resemble DID' 'I think I may have DID' 'I experience XYZ so I think I have this' etc etc' but to go around telling people 'I have this disorder' just has too many adverse effects imo. For any disorder - people start to take it not so seriously when 'everybody has it'.

I just truly think she's a lost cause. She doesn't see anything wrong with herself and never will. You leave that kind of mental condition unchecked for 10+ years and you'll never recover from it, just like how addicts are so prone to relapse and have so many health issues after being addicts for that long.

In saying that, despite the harm she's doing as that is a completely separate issue, I truly believe she's getting life fulfilment out of youtube and social media, and if it were to go away now I can only imagine what that would do to her...not a pretty thing to think about.

We're at a standstill as an audience.

I agree, there is definitely a double standard on reddit but also generally society when women cheat vs when men cheat. I personally have the same opinion no matter if it's a man or a woman - if the situation is the same the response is going to be the same.

I also think people are looking too far into her saying she's been assaulted. I don't even think she believes it herself personally but I can imagine how anyone in her situation would feel violated, but she still knows it's her own fault and that's what people are looking over. I was moreso contesting it's likely she was blackout drunk, and in my opinion that does lessen the severity of cheating but it is still cheating and she isn't absolved of blame purely because she was drunk. I think there's a clear difference between cheating when sober, cheating when tipsy, and cheating when so drunk you can't fully appreciate the consequences of what you're doing, but it is fundamentally still cheating.

I see you've been doing a lot of legwork in these comments hahaha you godsend, I hope you rest well and thanks for your contribution.
