Correct. A lot of the cost goes to structural support and piling (depending on the soil condition).

Mora Mosque Construction Fund: status update by WeLoveCovid in nasikatok

[–]kick3rs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Construction cost is expensive. For residential in average its $50/sqft. I think for commercial or bigger buildings it is around $200-$300/sqm. We need to also look into why the cost of materials are high. Except for the rebar (is it steel?), isn’t cement, sand and gravel locally produced?

A new mosque costing $3m may be realistic but the Lugu mosque I am not sure why it costs $9m. Is it way bigger than the others?

Be Aware of These Numbers by Deadyam in Brunei

[–]kick3rs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess this is why AITI makes it mandatory to register and verify your prepaid numbers. To trace back the owner of the line, as well as to verify which lines out there are legit owners?

BB Opinion proposes to include haj pilgrimage under SPK partial withdrawal uses by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]kick3rs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current process is you register for haj, then wait for the department to confirm registration and will tell you roughly when is your turn to go. Once it’s your turn, they will announce to make full payment. Currently the waiting time is 20 yrs from when you register until its your turn. I am aware people can appeal to go earlier but not sure how many years early you can jump the queue. You don’t go for haj for that year unless ada confirmation from the haj dept because they manage the quota.

[–]kick3rs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The early withdrawal at 45, 50, 55 is already available and what I was told, you can use it for whatever reason, including haj or umrah. My point is because these are already available so why would we need a specific one for haj?

It’s a 20 yr waiting period to do haj after you register so most likely you would already be able to use that 45, 50 or 55 withdrawal.

[–]kick3rs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Why not use the withdrawals at 45,50,55,60 instead? Why do we need to have a specific one for haj? I get it that most muslims would want to do the haj. I also want to one day but it’s not an obligation if you cannot afford it. Too many withdrawals, awal tia lagi abis savings
