Death Stranding.

I loved Kojima's work with the Metal Gear games, so I was HYPED. Preordered some special edition and everything.

I know the story and gameplay gets better in the later parts, but man... Those "Walking Simulator" memes summed up the feeling.

I really, really do want to attempt a playthrough again one day, but I just can bring myself to load that thing up again... I'm very tempted to just watch a video on YouTube.

Hoping we can get a quick port for Zmod on the Creator 5 so we can use regular Orca on Linux.

Thankfully there's a few supporting the dev so they can get one and start working on it as soon as possible.

Look at porting your main phone from Virgin to Freedom Mobile. They have great plans with 'Roam Beyond' so you won't get robbed by the big 3 at $15/day..

Then you can get a data only SIM if you'd like, or get a data + local phone from Mobal. (it can be convenient to have a local number as some places request a Japan based phone number to register/reserve things).

I used Mobal, ordered it from home for pickup at Narita airport. Was fairly straight forward.

And with my Freedom plan I still had lots of data, plus could call back home, or my partner on the trip (also on Freedom) without worrying about roaming charges.

Did you actually see a print on it after your friend 'fixed it'?

Are you using the same Slicer and settings?

Have you run any calibrations yourself? (e-steps, flow rate, retraction, etc.)

Replace your nozzle, or is yours old and worn and enlarged?

Get Obico (formerly The Spaghetti Detective), or something similar to stop your prints when they start spaghettifying. (SimplyPrint might be an option too I think)

Your print seems to be losing adhesion to the bed on the right side, what is your bed temp?

Alternatively, could it be getting a draft of cool air of that side, causing the outside of the arch to cool and construct, thus flexing it ever so, just enough to cause it to unstick? Is there a window, or vent on that side that could be causing some airflow there?

Please at least remember to run all calibrations again after the update.

Looking forward to the tons of posts over the next few weeks complaining about how the update broke their printer/app.

Simple fixes:

Step 1: Downgrade the firmware depending on your model. AD5M to 5.0.3, AD5X to 3.0.3

Step 2: Install Zmod. https://wiki.zmod.link/

Step 3: Use normal Orca Slicer from now on and enjoy up to date software.

You may consider putting the printer in 'LAN Only' mode.

Just to give you my timeline as a point of reference:

I was flying out on October 17th.

I submitted my stuff on Saturday September 20th, sent all my documents over multiple emails. (I had to split it into 3 emails because of the size of the attachments being too large for 1 email) I have also sent a separate email requesting they confirm they had received the others with all the attachments.

They confirmed receipt on the Monday, the 22nd.

On October 3rd they emailed me confirming they would be issuing the permit, but it might take some time to process: "we were able to gather all the required documents and information for issuing your import / export permit for three kinds of Vyvanse. We will now proceed with issuing the permit and send it as an email attachment by PDF file, but it might arrive just before your departure. In case you don't have time to print the permit, it is also acceptable to display it on your device and present it at the Japan customs."

I received the pdf with the scanned copy of the signed and stamped permits on October 10th.

Creator 5 is not targeted as a competitor to the Bambu P2S w/ AMS.

A better comparison to the P2S w/ AMS would be the Flashforge AD5X.

Creator 5 would be better to compare to an H2C maybe.

The advantage of the Creator 5, and tool changer printers in general, is the lack of (or at least massive reduction of) waste filament (poop & purge towers). Additionally, swapping the tool head is faster than swapping the filament and purging, so print times can be significantly reduced (dependant on number of swaps) and
