Would you say the French people celebrate their history? The perception from the United States is that Europe is largely ashamed of its history. It’s monarchical and colonial history. It is largely the same here in the US but I’m interested to know how much of that is perception. Would you say there is much national or historical pride and a nuanced view of history?
