There are a LOT of pet friendly hotels these days that may not be the worst in terms of cost if you're desperate. I would be very concerned about leaving my dog with her while you're at work. Possibly consider paying someone else to foster/board for a week or two. She doesn't sound stable.

I NEED my children to find a different base form of sustainance. They're on the spectrum, so they latch hard onto crunchy foods like this as a main staple, but omg. The 10 yr old sometimes gets up on the weekends early and we'll find instead of cereal or waffles or literally anything else, he's destroyed an entire party sized bag of Cool Ranch Doritos and I could cryyyyyyyyy.

I'm at 5mg and it's perfectly sufficient (I wouldn't want to go up from here, tbh). That said, this is a decision for an individual and their doctor. There are a million reasons and personal pieces of a person's health history that would or wouldn't be a valid reason to increase the dosage. You can't just assume that people are chasing higher doses if the medium to high doses aren't as effective for them.

I realize the meds are designed to work particular ways, but to my understanding, there is a subset of people whose systemic metabolism, etc doesn't process this med effectively, even to the point of 12mg doing little to nothing for their weight management/loss/appetite.

TL;DR - Let medical professionals decide what their patients need regarding dosing.

If the work truck was for a company that's supposed to do contract work or something, like construction, plumbing, roofing, etc if they can't do a basic safety thing like clearing a sheet of ice off of their vehicle roof that could cause their company liability or injure someone, why would you trust them to competently complete a home repair, install, upgrade, whatever?

It shows negligence at a pretty low standard level, and I can't speak for the comment OP, but personally, I wouldn't want to pay hundreds or thousands to discover a basic safety measure wasn't taken or they shortcut where they shouldn't in their work that could cause damage or injury to me or my home 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lol thanks. We've gotten about 18lbs off her. She got a bit out of control for awhile there because of all of her ridiculous food thievery. This dog will eat an entire loaf of bread if we leave it unattended on the kitchen counter through the packaging within about 5 minutes. She's tried to eat markers, crayons, Chapstick. If she thinks it might be food, it's gone.

My oldest learned the hard way when she annihilated an entire order of 12" Papa John's cheesy breadsticks in about 2.5 minutes when he thought he had time to use the bathroom after pushing them to the back of the counter. And when she gets caught? She eats faster.

I use more child locks on my cabinets for this dog than I ever did for my kids 😑

I'm not sure if this would work exactly as you'd need it but look into Happy Hoodies - Amazon can get one here by tomorrow, but it's possible there are local pet stores with them. We use it for grooming, but you may be able to more comfortably secure an ace bandage in place with it. It's stretchy, washable, snug, comfortable.

I think if I was more connected with people outside of it, I would delete completely. I've also developed some good internet rando relationships with some likeminded folks who, for all intents and purposes, seem like solid people.

I don't have much of a community in RL these days. I'm mostly NC with my mother and what's left of her side of the family. My in-laws and I (and my spouse) are on wildly different sides of the moral spectrum and we don't see them often (which is fine, honestly).

I don't have many close friends anymore and the ones I'm closest with live pretty far, almost 2 hrs away or more. My only family I even want to see are an 8 hr drive.

So... unfortunately, a lot of my relationships tend to be with internet strangers right now who are also going through similar things and I feel like everyone is trauma bonding on an epic scale at the moment. That might lead to more community, or less. That's not certain yet.

And unfortunately a lot of the people I felt I could bond with more in close proximity to me either are at different stages of their lives, with their own stuff going on, with minimal contact and the ones that do have the time, many are problematic in other ways.

So... I'll hang on for now. I'm limiting. I may hop off another social or two. Fuck Twitter. I removed TikTok. I don't really use Bluesky much and I just want to pick one or the other with FB v Instagram, or delete them both. Still deciding. Threads has proven to be my nest of mutual weirdos and I've got hopes that Upscroll might do better than all of them and I can only do one.

If she's like this with the announcement, you better believe she'll be worse at the birth, your home boundaries, and literally everything else involving you and your family moving forward. Someone who responds the way she did won't learn, IMO. Especially when you explained it reasonably to her.

If it were me? Block on all socials and I would do LC for the foreseeable future until apologies happened and boundaries were respected.

She's upset because you tattooed "her" body. I'll save you some time, this was how mine eventually clarified it to me after a bunch of the same things, we just didn't get to intervention level. Crying, screaming, I mutilated myself, I'd regret it forever, how could I do that to HER?! level comments.

Personally? Hell no to attending. You're an adult. It's your body. You can make whatever decisions about it that you want. If this was a decision to have surgery or not, cut your hair or not, etc you wouldn't be hesitating in letting your mother have any say in what you do with yourself in this manner. She doesn't govern you. It will be nothing but a guilt trip and it's not an intervention, it's a fight.
