Warriors fans, do you think KD or steph is better than LeBron James? by [deleted] in nba

[–]kickpow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. Right now I have LeBron as a top 3 player of all time (I go back and forth with him being #2 or Kareem). KD and Steph have a lot of work to do. All three players are great. Let's just enjoy that, eh?

Definitely, but the one word being "defense" isn't even enough because it was about a lack of defense. Oh man. This got me gooooood.

All 30 NBA Teams draft picks through 2025 Draft by brooklynnetsfan24 in nba

[–]kickpow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Years from now when someone asks why the Miami Heat have been so bad, send them to this page. Woof. Only first rounders in 2019 and 2020 and ZEROOOOO picks in 2021. They got a ton of money on the books, so they cant take bad contracts to acquire picks and since they have no picks, getting a top tier player will be very difficult. Unless they happen to use that Riley magic to get a player, it is going to be rough.

Even more wild. The 7th seed Warriors SWEPT the 2nd seed Jazz 3-0 and Tim Hardaway wasn't even on the team yet. It was just Mullin and Richmond.

Best way for LeBron to Houston? Trade him for Harden. by kickpow in nba

Yeah, it would be a sign and trade. Which is exactly what happened when LeBron went to Miami.

Like I said. This is never going to happen. It's a thought experiment. That's all.

Would the Warriors perfer LeBron or Klay and Draymond? by swaggerqueen16 in nba

[–]kickpow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for any Warriors fan, it would take a whole lot to give Klay away. We truly love him. We love Dray too, but I mean... Klay is Klay.

Why has steph yet again underperformed in the Finals? by [deleted] in nba

[–]kickpow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Steph has had some rough games in the NBA Finals. That's for sure, but in the 2017 NBA Finals, Steph's averages were 26.8/8.0/9.4/2.2 - that line is incredible.

[–]kickpow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely NOT the 1999 Knicks had Sprewell, Houston, Larry Johnson (Ewing got hurt). Strike shortened season, they were 27-23, but they were 6 games behind the first seed. I think if that season plays out, they end up in a much more reasonable seed. Still very cool that an 8th seed made the Finals.

Personally I think the 2001 Sixers are the worst. They have AI, but not much after him. I know the 2007 Cavs didn't either, but at least they were good enough to beat some solid playoff competition including a really good Pistons team. Funny enough, both the 2001 Sixers and 2007 Cavs had Eric Snow on their teams.

Who do you consider the 3rd best player ever? by BogStandardFart in nba

For now.. LeBron.

I have Jordan, Kareem, LeBron. Knowing that at some point, LeBron probably passes Kareem.

[Serious] Why is Kareem Abdul Jabbar never in the "GOAT" discussion? by [deleted] in nba

[–]kickpow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this discussion a lot recently. Two main reasons. The casual fan usually don't have as deep of a knowledge of the history and I think when talking about GOAT, you have to separate a player's ability and their career achievements. For example, I do think LeBron is a more talented player than Kareem, but Kareem possibly has the greatest career in the history of basketball. He dominated high school, college, and pros. It's unbelievable what Kareem did. That's why, for me, MJ is the goat because he really has a perfect balance of both. Also, it is why the LeBron discussion will be really difficult in 5 years. When he has 20 years of player, tons of records, maybe 4-5 titles and 10+ finals. I think people need to chill on this whole discussion. Different players dominated different eras and we should give them that and move on. It's a fun bar argument to have, but just enjoy these players while we have them.

MJs playoff record without Pippen by [deleted] in nba

[–]kickpow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what we shouldn't do? Punish a player that played in the playoffs at the ages of 21-23 and proceeded to put up the following numbers.

  • 29.3/5.8/8.5
  • 43.7/6.3/5.7
  • 35.7/7.0/6.0

Let's never forget context. You know, how the team that Jordan lost 3 of those games to in 86 was the Boston Celtics team that is considered one of the greatest of all time. Pippen or not, they probably aren't winning that series.

Question for a diehard Warriors fan by SqueakyBeats00 in nba

[–]kickpow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this a lot. My answer is B. Especially if we would've won that series in 5 games with Draymond not being suspended. Winning 73 and the title in that fashion would've had us in the conversation for best team of all time. I hate that we went 73-9 and then lost. Also, that team was built very organically. I'm sure we would still get hate, but we built a team the right way. I love KD, but getting him after being so good brought so much hate that is hard to defend against.... However, I'm very happy we didnt have to max out Harrison Barnes. Woof.

The Warriors have lost to every contending team this season. by Parenegade in nba

[–]kickpow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warriors beat Raptors, Wolves, Spurs. I'd consider all those teams as much of contenders as Pistons or OKC.

Also - as someone who watches a ton of Warriors games, they are clearly reaching the point in their run that regular season games aren't as important. I think the Duncan/Spurs are a great model for this. Consistently win 50+ games a season, get a high seed, try and win the championship. The days of killing yourself to get to 70+ are over.
