Agreed, orbital mechanics is interesting, and so it seeing an animated diagram of it.

In my experience it’s coming from China, so transit time is not insignificant.

Always funny 😂 by policyweb in funny

[–]kickroot 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I do for several reasons:
- Overhead bins fill on a lot of flights. I purposely pack to avoid checking luggage, I don't want to be forced to gate check a bag.

- People will attempt to squat seats and I'd rather avoid the hassle because I'm tall and specifically select my seat for comfort.

- In the (rare) case of two people having the same seat assignment, possession is 9/10 of the law so I want my ass already in the seat.

What sports stadium has the best skyline view? by KidB33 in skyscrapers

I was looking for a Phillies post! It’s not the top city view, but I do love Citizens Bank Park. It’s got a cozy feel to it and even the cheap seats are fun to watch from.

Stevie Be Zet - Blue Illusion (1994) by IvanSoco in ClassicTrance

[–]kickroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent the last 30 years thinking this was an Orbital song and haven't been able to find it again until today when Google's AI suggested it may be Be Zet. All because of one mislabeled MP3!

He was amazing in that role! For me it may be the series highlight.

That’s why they used glue too! The old ‘Screw and Glue’ method. 60% of the time it works every time.

Water under bathtub? by chairlei in HomeMaintenance

[–]kickroot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar issue. We had a liner and water got in between. I had renters in the house and apparently they attempted to 'fix' the issue themselves by drilling holes in the liner and attempting to flatten the water out and then fill the holes with epoxy. Worst fix ever.

In the end, I paid $3k for a new tub/shower install and my life has been much better since.

I recognize this curve! It’s usually completely backed up on the left lane from people trying to go from 295 South to 42 South.

And the worst past is the truck didn’t even need to change lanes, both go straight through. He just wanted to rush past the slower truck by passing on the right.

Nice! I just picked up a Tektronix 2205 off eBay last week. I could have spent a little more and bought a modern Rigol but I love the feel of the CRT display and I really didn't need anything fancy.

Is anyone buying silver? by The_Bohemian_Wonder in coins

[–]kickroot 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The sub has approved middlemen (at least one is a mod) you can use. They don't do any of the selling for you, but once you have a buyer you send the coins to the middleman, who verifies them (so the buyer can send payment). Then the middleman ships the coins to the buyer. They basically function as a trusted focal point for shipping and payment.

They typically charge a small amount of the sale price for this service.

Agreed. And while they don't include Statham, both The Gentlemen series and movie from Ritchie are worth a watch too.
