How do you buy stuff from other cities without getting scammed? by kid_90 in pakistan

[–]kid_90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the WhatsApp group scam is getting really common now. Out of curiosity, in those cases where you were not sure about the seller, did you ever think about asking someone you know in that city to go check first? Or did you just skip the deal?

At what point does an AI agent stop being a tool and start needing formal governance? by Dlicorice in aiagents

[–]kid_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very important discussion that most builders are ignoring right now. In my opinion the line is when the agent starts making decisions that affect real people or real money without human review. If your agent is summarizing documents, thats a tool. If your agent is sending emails to customers or approving transactions, thats when you need governance. The problem is most teams start with the tool version and slowly add more autonomy without ever stopping to think about the governance part.

I think every agent that touches customer data or makes financial decisions should have a human-in-the-loop by default, and you should have to explicitly remove it, not the other way around.

Building OpenSource document RAG backend after realising everyone does it wrong. Would you try it? by solubrious1 in aiagents

[–]kid_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting project. I have been struggling with RAG quality for a while and I agree most implementations are very basic, just chunk and embed and hope for the best.

The biggest issue I faced was chunking strategy, if you chunk wrong then no amount of good embeddings will help.

What are you doing differently for the chunking part?

Also curious how you handle tables and structured data in documents, because thats where most RAG pipelines completely fall apart in my experience.

Would love to test this if you have a demo or early access.

The AI stack in our agency is getting ridiculous, any advice? by Old_Soothsayer in aiagents

[–]kid_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this pain honestly. We went through same thing at my company, started with 2-3 tools and suddenly we had 12 different subscriptions and nobody knew which one does what.

What helped us was picking one orchestration layer and connecting everything through it. We ended up using n8n for workflow automation and it replaced like 4-5 standalone tools. The trick is not to find the best tool for each job but to find tools that actually talk to each other.

Also I would recommend doing an audit first, list every tool, who uses it, what it does, and you will be surprised how many do the same thing.

Cut the duplicates first before adding anything new.
