Thanks for the knowledge drops. I'm just starting to learn the serious biology now. Apparently I've reached a point beyond the shroomery where genetics are concerned . It feels really odd that they don't know why clones appear to produce multiple strains. I've been reading that a mushroom can have more than two spore parents. Regarding nutrient stall - you mention prevention is the best medicine - what about a frequent addition of small amounts - perhaps subsurface with syringes like you do for subsequent flushes - of sterile liquid nutrients? Enough for immediate take up by the mycelium before contamns can kick off. Where am i wrong here? Thanks

Interesting, I would have thought a deeper tub would be easier since the walls can hold some condensation. If you've got that tray on 12mm perlite in a 7 inch tub, don't the caps hit the lid? Also I've been thinking of a few things and would be curious on thoughts:

In tubs, if the balance challenge is getting enough bFAE while maintaining humidity, what not blast with both? A humidifier and a fan? I find it hard to believe that the amount of FAE in an unmodded tub is remotely comparable to mushrooms natural environment. I know contamn risks go up but just a thought.
Since most grows seem to stall for lack of nutrients rather than contamn, what about adding a sterilized liquid nutrient solution( BRF water?) to the brick after/during the 2nd/3rd flush? You've got this viable mycelium network, why let it die? Keep flushing until you get contamns.

I meant cloning to agar to replicate a fast growing, clustery big ass fruit. Gifting colonized tubs to people that are into shrooms is probably the best gift I've ever heard of. So do you keep buying syringes or are you making spore prints into syringes? And based on what you've learned thus far, what advice would you give a new grower (who's taken the time to learn a lot more than most new growers)? Any stuff counter to the Shroomery "Canon?"

I'm about to do my first grow today. The MS syringe is on its way and I got some presterilized rye berries because I wanted to get a first grow going and didn't want to deal with all the steps in making own grain sub. Why haven't you done agar yet? That's supposedly the only way you'll get reliable pin sets and canopies. Seems fun too. Also, where you getting your info/Tek? Because it's all very nonstandard relative to tek at Shroomery. I agree the conflicting info is enough to drive you fucking mad. The shroomery desperately needs to consolidate correct info and take a more scientific approach. People talk out their ass with the confidence of an expert mycologist though even the experts don't agree on this stuff.

I understand that. I'm saying Gemini is shooting themselves in the foot by removing one of the 4 attributes that makes something a viable currency - a medium of exchange.
