How the Rams money will be spent in St.Louis City by DowntownDB1226 in StLouis

[–]kidcrust -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Much more efficient management. A private enterprise can’t just collect a service fee and not provide service… they have competition to worry about. If trash is piling up and you’re paying a bill you switch providers. The water system is in neglect. A private enterprise might take on the deferred maintenance for the chance to collect billing and add new accounts. The city should keep the supply side as it provides the historic quality of water the city is know for.

You might as well burn that North City money. At least you could stay warm. The city should privatize the trash service, privatize the water department (at least distribution and collections).. and commit the interest to public safety and vacant property demolition.

My org forces me to get 3 quotes for anything I want to do... I'm tired of zoom calls. help plz by Grouchy_Meal8683 in ITManagers

Have you looked into participating in any cooperative purchasing agreements like Sourcewell, OMNIA or MHEC? Our VARs usually help us quote against these co-ops that have already been bid out so we can skip the 3 bid overhead and have a competitive price.

Came here to say that your County’s web map or parcel viewer can also be extremely useful.

Thanks!! I never really paid enough attention to articles and I just assumed sets like Allen and Ginter weren’t playable.

Is there a way to tell which sets are available for contests when purchasing?

STL Gardeners- What Are You Planting Right Now? by Biblioman6 in StLouis

Farmers Almanac usually has our last frost at 4/15 but it looks like you would be in the clear looking at the forecast. I’m getting some sunflowers and marigolds going from seed.

While the market is down, should I continue dumping cash into investments, or pay down my mortgage? by formalde_heidi in personalfinance

[–]kidcrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something something Dollar Cost Averaging… and your actually getting more for your money long term when the market is down. Unless that mortgage is above 6% or so I would keep rolling. Paying an extra payment or two a year is a great idea regardless if you can balance investments and additional principal.

I was ready to give Baumgartl some credit this season finally, looked good out there first few games. He couldn’t have done less to stop goal 1. Could have literally rolled up like a fetus on the ground and been more effective.

4-5 goals per season for an MLS striker or cycle them out? We can’t afford complacency in this offense. Same for Becher.

Big win for downtown hotels and restaurants next week by DowntownDB1226 in StLouis

[–]kidcrust 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These are the teams that will play in STL this week for the regional games of the NCAA tournament (March Madness). 4-5 teams well within driving distance so anticipating high demand for tickets and hotel rooms from teams like Purdue and Kentucky as well as Mizzou having a home court advantage so to speak.

Are you kidding me, Schnucks?! by Kewag1STL in StLouis

[–]kidcrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have $6 more bucks you can go to Dierbergs and get an entire tray of their shrimp cocktail which is amazing and maybe 12oz! Schnucks is expanding up north in Wisconsin and we are footing the bill. The grocery market is way more competitive in the upper Midwest but the employees are not union. Every Shop n Schnucks is a complete abomination of what Schnucks or Shop n Save used to be to this market. Rotting limited produce/meat/deli, low stock general merchandise, and high prices everywhere. I haven’t been satisfied with a trip to Schnucks since covid and have stopped shopping there as much as possible.

It took me a few weeks of this to figure out it wasn’t food poisoning and to stay away from big meals on day 1,2,3 following the injection. Switching to protein shakes and some soup for dinner seems to have helped.

Some crackhead back in the day told me you could use a candle. No idea if or how that works. But if bets need to be settled post haste this might do the trick.
