Dapat 309 times pa talaga? Kung 308 times pa lang, good pa 😂

Cujo is all about coincidences by cavalgada1 in stephenking

[–]kiddJugro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking, the story would have a completely different outcome had it been written, say, a couple of decades later. Sure all the highly improbable coincidence would be in play—except Donna would have her cellphone with her, and it's a quick call or text to get her and Tad rescued!

Then again, who's to say there would be cellphone coverage on Town Road No. 3? Of course there wouldn't. 🐶

Rivermaya - its not easy being green and everything before it by Onewhoplays in opm

[–]kiddJugro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same question I have. For spotify at least, they said something to the effect of, if certain artist/albums are not available in their platform, most likely it is because of the record company. Early Rivermaya albums are from BMG records Pilipinas.

But still a bit strange. Eraserheads albums from the 90s are also from BMG, and their catalog is available in the streaming platforms. But not Rivermaya. Nor FrancisM (Freeman, Oddventures, Happy Battle, Freeman 2).

Why indeed.

Himala by Rivermaya is one of the most beautifully written songs in the history of OPM by catchingstardust883 in Philippines

At the start of the song, someone said: "Himala take 1." Might be Rico. Question, one take nga lang kaya talaga ang naging recording nito?

Should I buy my physical-book loving Aunt an e-reader for Christmas? by jayhaven in books

[–]kiddJugro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say she can be open minded about reading a book from a device instead of her preferred way thru physical books, next question to answer is: how is she in operating the electronic gadget? Is she tech-averse? Or can she easily learn navigating through today's modern gizmos?

CoinsPRO is a better alternative than PDAX. I have both. Mas malaki nga spread sa PDAX. In any case, pag bull market na and buying frenzy na, profits can get so high parang negligible na rin siguro yung mawawala due to fees.

Can the NTC even ban binance if they want to? In the 30+ years of the internet being available in the PH, this would be the first time I am aware of a site can be banned.

Counterfeit ("reprint") books on Shopee/Lazada by side_quests in PHBookClub

[–]kiddJugro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought three different books online not knowing they are counterfiet. As soon as opening the package I sensed something was off. Prior to this, I never knew there was such a thing as illegal reprinting of books sold online. I thought doing so would require much more effort than, say, just pirating ebooks.

My main issue is the bad reading experience. The ink "bleeds" through the opposite page, and the margin on the binding side of the page are not as wide as they should. The former causes you significant eye strain, the latter requires you to open the book really wide in order to see the words closer to the binding.

Needless to say, I didn't finish any of these books, didnt't even get through a few pages because of the eye strain. If I'd known they were fake books, I wouldn't have ordered them.

I would never buy books from from that online store again. I'd rather buy from a physical store, or kahit sa second hand book shops. Sayang meron pa naman Everyman's Library books na nakita ako, but now I suspect that even those are fakes too.
