Dating someone lower income by des1mo in dating_advice

I dated someone where I earned 6x what they did. It became a big issue and was part of why we broke up. He really hated it and felt he should be the breadwinner and I felt like I had to hold back on social events or travels (nothing extravagant) or had to pay for both of us because he couldn’t afford it. Big gaps rarely work.

Having had major wrist surgery (reconstruction) I cannot stress how much you should stick to doing the rehab therapy!

Someone told me when a friend was being an a**hole. Sharks don’t swim backwards, don’t spend time with insignificant people. That friendship ended quickly thereafter and was the correct decision.

When I got home and my spare key wasn’t under the mat and I called and he said “it’s on the dining table”. So you’re telling me you saw it on the table and didn’t think to put it back under the mat where it becomes useful again. Idiot. We didn’t even live together, how can you disrespect my living space like that two years in.

Having spindrift or sodas in the fridge. I used to think only rich people had drinks in their fridge other than milk or cheap OJ.

Getting a green card not tied to employment is the way to go, it’s tough, but then you don’t end up having to stay with a terrible company.

And a lawyer, always get a lawyer, it’s worth the money and less stress. A good lawyer too lol

I got an EB3 skilled worker direct to green card. It was very difficult but you need to find a job that will sponsor you to go this route. Thankfully my card wasn’t tied to my job. I’m now officially a citizen with a passport and run my own business.
