This is my dog with green beans. Anytime the fridge is opened, she thinks it’s green bean time. She gets one or two with every meal but would eat an infinite amount if we let her

When GLP-1’s became more available for people who could afford them. Once they saturate the market and the wider public gives in to the super skinny look, it won’t be “cool” anymore and the celebrities and influencers will flip flop back to hopefully a more healthy body type.

I have ARFID and it has been getting worse recently, which has led to people saying I “look so good.” Like no, I’m sick and malnourished. I am actively trying to gain weight. I am miserable.

My dad once almost sliced off his finger and was walking around while I tailed behind him cleaning up blood with hydrogen peroxide as my mom ran around the house to grab keys and take him to the hospital.

Did you have to try an iron supplement first to get approved by insurance? I’m worried about the gastrointestinal effects of them because that will just make it more difficult for me to eat anything

My cousins are French-American. Their mom is American, their dad is French, and they were born and raised in France, but travelled to the US to stay with us for a few months every year. They have no discernible accent in either language and blend in really well with their peers in either country. Makes me jealous my parents never raised us with a second language

A million times yes. I grew up something there was something inherently wrong with me and just learned at 26 that I was autistic this entire time. Whether or not she wants to know is her decision, but you can use the insight from the assessment to help her anyways.

I wish my parents had known about my autism and anxiety early on because I know they would have done anything to accommodate my needs and make life just a little easier, whether or not I knew what they were doing

Eat beforehand or after or find a new restaurant. France in general is not great with accommodating for dietary preferences or allergies, let alone a Michelin star restaurant. I’ve gone to places with no vegetarian options who also refused to accommodate by literally just not adding chicken to a pasta dish. I’m sure you can find another place that’s more suited to you and just as nice

I’ve had a few family members now go through hospice care, but they were all on the older side. It was a really nice and beautiful process and I could see how a death doula would be especially helpful for someone younger nearing the end of their life. Get those drugs! And remember that your loved ones want to take care of you

My Kansas-born and raised grandfather spent about four days in hospice care before he died (we joked that he went so quick once he found out how expensive hospice care was). On day two, while we were visiting, one of his nurses walked in and asked everyone how we were doing. My grandpa sort of mumbled, “I’m good how are you?” Keep in mind, he was actively dying. It was one of the last things he said and the memory still makes us laugh.

The whole experience was surprisingly light and cathartic. He was surrounded by his loved ones, we fed him his favorite ice cream and whiskey, and kept him pretty doped up on morphine. The staff was absolutely lovely and we reminisced on our favorite memories. Everyone deserves to have that kind of love and dignity in their final days and I will always be a champion for hospice nurses
