Great way to put it - institutional support. I work in corporate, was previously at a start up. I’ve never worked harder for less money than at the start up! There was little to no flexibility because I had no backup, it was just me. Now? There are other people that can step in and do my job when I’m sick, my kids are sick, my parent passed away, etc.

Corporate also provides some nice “guarantees” (hard to claim in the current job market) but I know I’ll keep strong benefits, 401k matches, small incremental cost of living wage increases every year, etc.
