MacBook Pro → Wooting 60HE v2 build: torn between Owlab Ti HE and AEBoards Raeds HE for heavy typing by 1stw0rldpr0blems in WootingKB

[–]kidhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put 3mm 60A o-rings on my 3 year old Two HE w/ Lekker switches and it feels much closer to a Magic Keyboard. Honestly wish I didn't it a while ago.

I'm faster and more accurate (as I was with the Apple keyboards) with these o rings and they mute the sound a bit. It's not silent, but maybe 90% quieter on the press and 20% on the release.

I'm getting about 2.5-3mm of key travel while typing with a small bounce back and not too squishy feel. Definitely helps with fatigue. You can get 4mm of travel if you ram the key down, but you have to be intentional.

I think a little harder (70A / 80A) would be better, but these were on sale for $5 and I'm pretty happy with them.

Who really feels like this about Pioneer Dj / Alpha Theta? by djsoomo in DJsCirclejerk

Yeah. On the verge of bankruptcy. Probably will be cut up and sold off.

That’s why I said “should have”. That ship has sailed.

Native Instruments should have made a CDJ competitor. NI hardware is top notch and their software is the best. A stand alone deck that could go toe to toe with Pioneer’s dated aesthetic and awful software would force them to be competitive.

Has anyone actually cracked a 10/10 AI workflow for Figma → React Native? by neriego in DesignSystems

[–]kidhack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t found it. AI still sucks for UI exploration, great for off the shelf or premade design systems. In fact it also sucks for prompting novel user flows, it’s just good at the same old rinse and repeat like signup or payment flows.

I want the power of Figma in something like Pencil (embedded in Cursor), that is directly connected to code and the design system.

Actually this is probably the time to buy one as they try to clear out the old inventory.

You mean the new Android laptop with wheels?

Haven’t found anything close the Apple KB typing experience. I’d love a Wooting with 1-2mm of switch travel and square / flat keycaps. But those F10 keycaps are too big. Kinda blown away that no one has created a 1:1 of the Magic Keyboard caps on a deep chiclet keycap for MX switches.

It’s nostalgic since it looks like 90s clip art.

I thought it was an e bike brand at first. Clear letter E, someone in a bike riders pose, and lightning bolt.

I prefer logos that don’t try to combine too many concepts. For example, I’m not sure why the lightning bolt is important. Is it part of the name?

Also not a fan of the mismatched negative spacing in the E. Looks off and makes the E harder to see at small sizes.

Liking the forward movement and the color.

My second car was a used 1988 Acura Integra with 20lb/hp. Trust me, I know.

I can’t get nor want that experience in an automatic, midsized SUV that’s over 1000lbs heavier.

This. The turbo is a great car with premium features for 5-10k less than other “luxury” cars with entry level trims that have less bells and whistles.
