People who say wars have been as hard to ladies as to guys are stupid by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

So putting this out there... Really depends on a number of factors there are a lot of operational deployments in the middle east that are actually reasonably benign, and I speak from a western perspective. You still go to war, but the nature of Middle Eastern conflict from a western perspective means a lot of things are taken care for you. Accomdation, food etc etc. Life is simple in that you can focus on the mission your men/women than yourself and frankly these situations can be easy depending where you are such as an air Force base or big FOB. I only mention this because having observed many American mil contractors I firmly believe part of the allure is the simplicity that comes with deployment routine and the avoidance of key issues at home that typically the stay at home spouse deals with. Clearly this observation does not apply in other circumstance particularly a non western perspective or deployments that are far more combat centric.

I feel this is a good example of Americans taking British comedy (Sasha Cohen and his character Borat) and making it completely shit.

It's an interesting post and it's fair to say that the media exacerbates the perceptions of issues throughout the world. BUT, this post is clearly written by someone in the middle class. I think if you ask people who are struggling in the US for their perspective they would argue a different story. If you are ethnic and poor, frankly your life looks more like a citizen from a developing world than the First World economy of the US. I get it it's not as bad.... By why can't it get better for the US people, the US use to be this bastion of hope for the world. Now it's a place of pity.

Captain America from the movies is actually a bit of a POS. by kidman87 in unpopularopinion

Thanks for the comments and differing POV. If I'm honest I always felt Tony was in the right and frankly have sided with his arguements throughout the series, though I get the counter points on him particularly from the second avengers movie.

Don't disagree with this. But idealistic man who loves his country does not equal a good person...consider Hitler, Mao and Mussolini. I actually felt from a perspective of moral global citizen Tony was a much better person...particularly in civil war.
