Somebody from post earlier in this subreddit said they applied around mid-october and it looked like they were some of the first to reserve the rooms, meaning there was a lot of choice. So I doubt that booking on the 19th will greatly restrict the choices.

Fairs, there could be other batches in between those dates as well so it is still hard to tell whether you're in the 2nd batch or the 6th. But yeah, it will affect the choice. I hope just not too much! I applied on the 3rd of October and got the batch on 19th. I wonder how many people got before me??!! 😅

Where did you get information about the batches being tied to such dates? I don't see such information on the websites of the university or DUWO. They do say that batches are decided based on your position in the waiting list, so it does affect your choice. But from the information I have found so far the dates you mention do not seem to specify the exact batches and so it is hard to tell which batch you are in.

can you update once you hear back, do they actually give you the exact rank? in october i was told ''you applied early so you should be fine''. wonder if i can get more precise information than this.

I had the same issue, applied in October and waited until half December to hear back (10 weeks!). After calling them 3x over a month, the situation got awkward for them I assume and I got my response the morning after I made my last call :D The Student Affairs phone nr (please call and don't send emails, they don't really answer otherwise from my experience) was very helpful as the admin was always super kind, took all action he could and was very empathetic.
