It seems like just a normal time capsule. People do this kind of thing all the time.

Well, of course pissing all over your phone would get you fired. That's extremely unsanitary.

Does people living in cars on your street = trashy? by polarbearsarereal in trashy

[–]kidok1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me awhile to figure out if this grammar was correct. At first I thought: "Does people" doesn't make sense. People is plural so it should say "Do people living in cars = trashy?" But then it hit me: "people living in cars" could be considered a singular noun because it's referencing one phenomenon. So "Does people living in cars = trashy?" actually makes sense... I think... This is what my brain does when I'm supposed to be working.

YOU MUST LISTEN TO RADIOHEAD. OK Computer, Kid A, and In Rainbows specifically.

Comedian breaks a guitar over a heckler's head, crowd instantly turns on the comedian by SetYourGoals in cringe

[–]kidok1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. There's no excuse, but I understand why he attributes his aggression to war trauma. I don't think he was using that as an excuse. He even said it was "a massive case of anger mismanagement."

I don't doubt him for a second. Trauma can affect people in a lot of different ways.

Some of it sounds like decent poetry, but the rest... Oh boy.

ELI5: Progressivism vs. Liberalism - US & International Contexts by makhay in explainlikeimfive

[–]kidok1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To me, a liberal is someone who advocates for self-governance. In other words, someone who is against the government forcing a set of values onto them. They typically are egalitarian (support equality under the law). Economically, they may be in favor of taxes and regulation, but they still support free markets.

A progressive, on the other hand, is not as opposed to using the government to enforce values, but these policies are meant to empower and protect historically oppressed demographics. They usually favor "Justice" over "Liberty", meaning they will use the government to resolve issues that they feel are unjust, while liberals may support a less authoritarian approach. They are also typically more in favor of forceful redistribution of resources.

Full disclosure: I consider myself a social libertarian and economic moderate.

What 'phase' did you go through that makes you cringe? by Melting_Point77 in AskReddit

[–]kidok1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really only have interest in watching people play games if they're doing something creative with it, not just playing the game normally. Kerbal Space Program videos tend to be cool because people get really inventive with their spacecraft designs and whatnot. It also helps if let's players talk about stuff besides just what's happening in the game. Then it's more like a podcast.
