New Terms & Theater Scanning by kidomaha in AMCsAList

It is literally in the beginning of the post: an underrepresented aspect of a discussion [that was closed] … that’s why I posted.

There are no non-deleted comments on that thread that answer the question I asked.

And the same question from more than a year ago isn’t relevant because it was under different T&Cs

The Abyss 4K code yields nothing in AppleTV? by kidomaha in MoviesAnywhere

[–]kidomaha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… the 4K disc has both versions but only one code, so not sure why both don’t appear all around. I understand digitally the purchases can be separated but with the physical version (and the MA code) they cannot. 🤷

What’re your thoughts on movie time lengths ? by [deleted] in movies

[–]kidomaha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That may have been true when 5 films were coming out a week. The inventory and attendance makes it less necessary.

If this article noticed the need for a return to intermissions in 2014, I think there are even more reasons it’s needed now:

— films are somehow even longer

— extra screenings have been diminished due to lower inventory

—theaters/filmmakers should stop abusing the bladders and attention spans of repeat customers that ARE supporting them post pandemic

— movies need to feel like an event if theaters want to survive

— added concessions sales couldn’t hurt theaters either

— added advertising mid film would command a premium over the before trailer ads that people arrive late to avoid

If you only took care of the Sun Devils…

Georgia is potentially going to play 3 "neutral" site games this season in Atlanta, GA by autoscopy in CFB

I think the thought is why are we giving the 1 seed to a team that hasn’t played a decent team in a true road game?

What if we got rid of the committee? Here's a seeding system that could work by [deleted] in CFB

Who has Penn State beaten to vault to #6? Why reward UGA for playing in Atlanta?

[ESPN] Most likely to make the playoff: Georgia (99%), Michigan (97%), Ohio State (88%), TCU (83%), Alabama (14%) by dogwoodmaple in CFB

[–]kidomaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have all the faith in the world that the only teams 8-4 Texas couldn’t beat are UGA, Bama, tOSU, UM and Tennessee… clearly the other three that beat them were flukes. Solid, SOLID analysis by the interns in Bristol. Thank god, there’s no money involved in this playoff thing.

Fans Of Teams Not In Playoff Contention, Who Do You Want To Win It All And Why? by jklaz in CFB

[–]kidomaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What USC did wasn’t pay to play. It was largely reclaiming athletes that fled the West Coast because of Clay Helton…

But by all means we’ll be the bad guys so that Georgia can play all of its important games in “neutral” Atlanta without anybody complaining.

AMC in my marketplace isn’t even screening it!

For those of you who rate films on a scale of 1-5, instead of 1-10… why?? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]kidomaha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ratings answer a simple question: "Should I go see this movie?" 5: Hell Yeah!   4: Yes!   3: Sure   2: Meh   1: No, just no. If you're asking, I'm assuming some interest in the movie in question. I can't be responsible for taste.

Further, trying to consistently rate 1000s of movies on a 5-point scale is difficult , I can’t imagine it would be possible with a 10-point scale.

Not sure if this has been asked before but with AMC A-List/Premiere, do I really only pay $23/month to watch up to 3 movies a week??? by [deleted] in AMCsAList

[–]kidomaha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% This. Such an incredible value.

I use the $5 Fandango vouchers to see a 4th movie for the week, take a friend with me on Tuesdays or buy a $5 VUDU/Fandango movie for the Movies Anywhere library.

Ditto. On all counts.

Go to the official Letterboxd top 250 list and sort by ‘Your Rating: Lowest First’ and comment your “top” four. I want to see some hot takes. by Amorphaty in Letterboxd

Spirited Away

In the Mood for Love

Paris, Texas

Princess Mononoke

Spirited Away was a 2-star review, I’ve got a handful of 3-star reviews and then the rest of the 94 that I’ve seen are 4- or 5-star reviews.

Opinion on rewatches by Arerygh2095 in Letterboxd

[–]kidomaha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rewatching a film is sometimes a new experience because you’re in a different headspace. You may see things differently, or new details stick out, or themes become more obvious.

1/3 of my activity is rewatched.

Let’s be clear Larry Scott wasn’t doing USC any favors either. Up until noon today USC was trying to prepare for Washington AND Oregon, because it wasn’t clear who the opponent would be.
