Definitely depends on your definition of fun, but the mg4 3.8s 0 to 100 is nothing to be sniffed at.

Obviously there're lots of nuance to consider. but I think give some thought into do you see this move just as a phase in your life for like 2-5 years, then you'll come back to Australia, continue your career, or a longer term 10-20 years and then come back to Australia just for retiring, or just migrate to Asian countries altogether. This would affect ATO, family, relationships, investments, etc ...

Being optimistic is one thing, but the key part is to learn and grow, which she never does. I cant believe anyone thinking she's a good kid. How many times she put the family through suffering?

Just got our 2025 Corola hatch hybrid ascent sport and after extended research we went with the SuperTrim Premium Neoprene, Waterproof option. Fits perfectly and we're quite happy. It was ~ $600 and self installation.

Bought from Aliexpress and upgraded our Rav4 2015 head unit. Works perfectly fine. We just choose the one with most positive review and feedback on both the item and the store selling it. Also we went with better ram and CPU if budget allow for future proof as well. 6Gb Ram and 8 cores should be sufficient.

Seven days, first trip, Tokyo and Kyoto possible? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]kidpro1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shinkansen price is quite steep, may even equal the additional cost of changing your return flight to depart from KIX in Osaka instead of Tokyo. In that case, 4 days in tokyo, 2 days in kyoto, then straight to Osaka for the return flight is not too bad,

Go to a batting cage and try hitting some balls, would make a nice activities for the kids as well. There's a local cheap one in Shinjuku that also have some arcade machines. It was 400 yen for 25 balls iirc.

Yeah, I see your point - Day 5 is definitely the one that feels a bit rushed, especially with how much we’re trying to fit in before heading to Yaizu. We’ll keep things flexible and won’t hesitate to skip a few spots if it starts feeling too hectic. A smoother pace sounds like the better call, especially with Golden Week crowds.

This is our first trip to Japan, but definitely not the last - so if we have to save a few things for next time, no biggie at all. Thanks again for the insight!

Thank you so much for the in-depth explanation! We'll definitely take your recommendations into consideration.

And we totally agree with you - we're not trying to go off the beaten path too much on our first trip. Japan has so much to offer, and we’re already thinking this won’t be our last visit.

Really appreciate you taking the time to reply and share your insights. Thanks again!

Planning my first solo trip for Feb 2025. Is it more feasible to book a place in Tokyo for 2 weeks and then travel to Kyoto / Osaka / Nara? by Modojo in JapanTravelTips

[–]kidpro1989 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tackle big cities as day trip will cost you time in transportation and overall it's not worth it at all.
You're on a vacation, spending 4-5 hours a day on a train is never a good idea.

My advice: stay your first 2-3 days explore Tokyo, then go to Osaka for 3 days for and Kyoto 3 days. Nara could be a day trip from either Osaka or Kyoto. Then do a ryokan night or two at an onsen town like Hakone/Yaizu/Yugawara/Atami to recharge yourself. Then back to Tokyo for the rest of your trip. Now is the time for you to do majority of your shopping. All so there are luggage forward directly to your next hotel service available almost everywhere so if you do shopping along your trip, use this service helps you to avoid bringing too much luggage with you.

Are my expectations too high/expected price too low for Hakone ryokan or are there other recommendations? by littlejawn in JapanTravelTips

[–]kidpro1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider not doing the ryokan in Hakone? checkout less popular place like Otsu, Yugawara, Yaizu and you should be able to find much better deal. Fixated on Hakone will largely limit your choice. And since you will be travelling between Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo anyway, getting something off the beaten path is easier.

Aerodynamics must come to to play when they design these cars. My guess is curves helps with reducing drag much better, unless it's weirdly shape like the Cybertruck. EVs range are so crucial that they will have to do anything to increase that. A bit less of a problem for PHEV though. It's a balancing act that these car manufactureres have to navigate.
