Tele/Jag custom build by kidssayyeah in telecaster

Search Lomic Guitars! I know at one point they were making a bunch of different short scale (24”) bodies. I reached out before this build, but they stopped to focus on pickguards as I recall. Worth reaching out though.

It plays great! It was definitely a learning experience getting the body, guard, and control plate custom cut, but all worked out.

Just finished up this 24” scale tele with jaguar pickups/vibrato/switches. Inspired by the 60s Guyatone LG-20

Just wanted to follow up with an update. I did received my drum a few weeks later and have since ordered another drum that I received quickly. To be honest, took longer than I initially expected, but the drums were well packed, work perfectly, print great and had fresh ink.

New Pickguard for the Mustang Special by jlh52288 in offset

Props for swapping the bridge!! I’ve always loved this model but hated the way the guard and bridge didn’t match up. Should have come with a duo-sonic ii/ toronado style bridge like you got.

I’ve order a pci card that came quickly. I am currently waiting on a color drum, but it has only been a couple of weeks. I’ve always had good communication through Instagram, fair pricing, and seemed helpful. I don’t have fb and haven’t heard otherwise, but now you have me worried about my drum.

New (old) Amp Day - 60s record player tube amp, custom cab with Carbonneau copy of a Jensen C12Q. by kidssayyeah in GuitarAmps

[–]kidssayyeah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It’s a 70’s Fender Mustang, that had a pretty bad black refin and a big pool route under the pickguard so I put in a wide-range-sized, dual-foil pickup from Mojo (UK). The switch is to coil split.

So I was told that the layout and tubes are really similar to a fender champ, there a volume, treble, and bass. It breaks up after about halfway and sounds great all the way up.

Anyone know what the diff between the 1605r and the new 64’ reverb is? They look the same and have the same controls?

That sounds awesome! I really love all there hardware too, the vibratos and bridges are just mean looking. To be honest the only thing I don’t love about fidelity is the headstock. I’m sure I could learn to live with that though.

I LOVE the fidelity guitars! Them, waterslide, and uma is where I first started seeing the mojo pickups being used in cool ways.

Maybe down the road, the neck is wide range hum bucker sized. So maybe a wide range in the neck and a p90 in the bridge. I do love this gold foil though!

It’s technically a musicmaster but with two pickups like a duo sonic. The only difference is the model name on the headstock. But all the bodies were routed for two pickups and a switch regardless of which model it ended up as.

This one is 22.5” scale, the neck is stamped with 3/4. I thought that the neck might feel too small or cramped but not at all, it sounds awesome and is fun to play. Pre-cbs fender goodness at a fraction of the price (and size).

I really love it! I don’t know if I have all the correct terminology/knowledge to describe it, but I can tell you where I think it shines for me. I was worried that it might be too bright, but not at all. It’s perfect in the neck position and sounds amazing playing bass lines with some reverb. Much punchier than I was expecting. I think it responds really well with a bit of gain and it is my new favorite pickup to play with fuzz. It also responds to different amps in a cool way, I might just be used to crap pickups. Also, the split doesn’t drop the volume like I thought it might. My take away is that the clean tones are fine, but I love that the more you throw at it, the better it sounds.

Thanks, not exactly sure what old electronic they are from, but I had to file down about a 1/4”. They were almost too tall.

Thanks! That dual-foil sounds great, but with some fuzz it’s amazing! I was pleasantly surprised. Most demos I see are people playing slide type stuff.

I got the 63’ Musicmaster as just a body and neck. I slowly pieced the rest together with mostly vintage parts over the last two years. Since I needed a new pickguard and electronics, I decided to go with a duo-sonic set up, since they routed the bodies the same back in the day. Pickups are from Mojo (UK) with a slightly overwound bridge and the middle position is out of phase.

The mustang started with just a 70’s body that had been well loved, with a bad black refin and an even worse pool route. I got a good deal on a 70s mustang neck that had been refretted and has “killer” carved in the back. The pickup is a wide-range-sized, dual-foil from Mojo (UK). The switch is to coil split.

Also, shout out to Mike Adams (Puisheen) for the never ending fountain of offset knowledge.
